About This Recipe:
These soaps lather and hold that lather nicely while shaving. The added sea clay adds "slip" and also helps to purify the skin while the basil powder helps soothe red and irritated skin.

(1) 2 oz Basil Powder
(1) 2 oz Glycerin - Natural
(1) 2 fl. oz Bay Rum - EO & FO Blend 129
(1) 2 oz Sea Clay - aka French Green Clay
(2) 1 Mold Shave Soap Mold (MW 523)
(1) 1 Set Mini Mixer - Cordless
(1) 1 Piece Droppers (Pipettes) - Plastic
(1) 1 Each Hairnets - 24 inch Disposable


Recipe Ingredients:
Measure ingredients with a scale or precise measuring tool.

• 24 oz. Premium Shave & Shampoo MP Soap Base - 2 lb Tray
• 0.05 oz. Basil Powder
• 0.40 oz. Glycerin - Natural
• 10 ml(s) Bay Rum - EO & FO Blend 129
• .10 oz. Sea Clay - aka French Green Clay


Equipment From Home:
• (1) Microwave
• (1) Microwave-Safe Measuring Cup (32 oz.)
• (1) Spatula
• (1) Small Bowl
• (1) Rubbing Alcohol - 99%
• (1) Soap Cutter
• (1) Scale - Digital Display
• (1) Thermometer

Directions:
NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron and workspace.
  1. To a microwave-safe measuring cup, add 24 oz.  
  2. Pour about 2 oz. of melted soap into a small bowl. Add 0.10 oz. of Sea Clay into bowl. Using Mini-Mixer, mix the powder well into the melted soap. Pour back into larger bowl of soap and stir to incorporate.
  3. Add 0.05 oz. of Basil Powder, 0.40 oz. glycerin and 10 ml of fragrance oil and mix well.
  4. Checking that the soap temperature is around 135° F, pour soap into the 4 cavities of each mold. Spritz the top with rubbing alcohol to release any surface bubbles and set aside to harden.
  5. Once soap has completely set up, turn molds over and gently press on each cavity to remove the soaps. If soaps do not easily unmold, place in freezer for 30 minutes.  
  6. Wrap or package soap as desired.
  7. Label product accordingly.
To Use: Lather onto wet skin and rinse off with warm water.
