About This Recipe:
Create a summertime emulsified sugar scrub with this recipe. This recipe produces exfoliating body scrubs with a nice red color. We love emulsified scrubs because they exfoliate skin, moisturize, and rinse off easily.

Recipe Ingredients:
Measure ingredients with a scale or precise measuring tool.

• 31.65 oz. Sugar - White Granulated Sugar
• 8.65 oz. Rice Bran Oil
• 3.35 oz. Chamomile Butter Blend
• 1.45 oz. Stearic Acid
• 1.45 oz. Emulsifying Wax - Traditional
• 0.95 oz. Fresh Picked Strawberry* FO 517
• 0.25 oz. Preservative - Water Soluble PF (Compare to Germall Plus)
• 0.25 oz. Vitamin E Natural T-50
• 1/8 Teaspoon(s) Raspberry Red Mica Powder

• (1) Thermometer

• (1) Sifter

Directions:
NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron and workspace.
  1. To metal pot, add rice bran oil, chamomile butter blend, stearic acid and emulsifying wax to metal pot and heat on hot plate or stovetop until the butter begins to melt.
  2. Remove from heat and stir until all ingredients are liquid.
  3. Mix with hand mixer for five minutes. Allow liquids to cool to 122ºF. (Place in refrigerator for faster cooling.)
  4. Add fragrance, preservative, Vitamin E and red mica to liquids. Whip with hand mixer and allow product to cool to 80ºF.
  5. Pour into large bowl and slowly add sifted sugar. Mix with hand mixer.
  6. Fill jars each with 7.60 oz. by weight. Twist on tops.
  7. Label accordingly.
To Use: Gently scrub on wet skin and rinse.
