Purple Calla Lily Soap Cakes Recipe

Purple is trending this year for fall weddings. These purple calla lilies look beautiful on top of this creamy white soap "cake".

Recipe Ingredients:

• 2 oz. Premium Extra Clear MP Soap Base - 2 lb Tray
• 56 oz. Basic Goat Milk MP Soap Base - 2 lb Tray
• 1.70 oz. Calla Lily* Fragrance Oil 328
• 1 Teaspoon(s) Glycerin - Natural
• 1 Teaspoon(s) Traditional - Lilac Purple Glitter
• 0.10 oz. Matte Yellow Soap Color Blocks

Equipment From Home:

• (1) Microwave-Safe Measuring Cup (32 oz.)

Directions:

NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron and workspace.

1. To Make Pistons: Melt 0.5 oz. of clear soap in a plastic beaker. Add slivers of yellow color cube until deep yellow color is achieved. Pour into one cavity of the round soap mold.
2. To Make Lilies: Melt 1.5 oz. of clear soap in plastic beaker. Add 1 teaspoon of liquid glycerin and about 1/2 tsp. of Purple Glitter. Add a little more if darker color is desired.
3. Stir soap right before pouring into soap mold to keep glitter suspended. Pour just enough soap to cover bottom of each heart cavity. When finished, spritz top of each soap with rubbing alcohol.
4. When soaps have hardened, remove yellow circle and all 12 purple hearts.
5. Cut yellow circle in fourths. Using soap cutter, slice thin pistons at an angle so one end is a point. Make enough for 24 calla lilies. Set aside.
6. With point of heart facing up, fold sides of heart into the middle. Continue until all 12 hearts are folded.
7. Melt 1 oz. of clear soap in a beaker. Using a child-size paintbrush, paint a small amount of soap between the two ends of the lily and press them together. Hold for a few seconds until they stay together.  Seal all 12 lilies. If soap hardens, heat for a few seconds in microwave to liquify.
8. Remelt any leftover clear soap in beaker. If necessary, add an additional ounce and melt in microwave. When soap has cooled slightly, pour a few drops into the middle of the lily, then stick one piston into the soap. Hold a few seconds until the piston stays in place. Continue until all twelve lilies are finished. Set aside.
9. To a microwave-safe measuring cup, add 28 oz. of cut up goat milk soap. Heat in microwave until completely melted.
10. Add 0.85 oz. of Calla Lily fragrance oil. Stir well to incorporate.
11. Pour soap into all 6 soap cavities. Spritz tops with rubbing alcohol. Let harden.
12. Remove soaps from mold.
13. In plastic beaker, melt 1 oz. clear soap. Pour a small amount into the middle of one bar. Carefully, place two calla lillies at an angle so the ends point inward. Let harden. If necessary, add more melted soap to hold the lillies in place.  
14. Continue until all 6 soaps have been made. Set aside.
15. Repeat above steps to make remaining 6 soaps. Enough pistons were made earlier for all 12 soaps so this does not need to be repeated.
16. Once all soaps have been made, package as desired. We recommend wrapping in plastic wrap, place in an organza bag, then add a hang tag with a thank you from the bride and groom. 
17. Label accordingly. 

To Use: Lather onto wet skin and rinse with warm water.
