3-in-1 for Men Shampoo Bars

About This Recipe:

Shampoo bars are an environmentally friendly way to cleanse all hair and scalp types. Traditional shampoo packaging fills landfills and oceans with plastic, negatively impacting the environment. The following 3-in-1 for men shampoo bar recipe will cleanse and condition hair, cleanse the body and lacks the plastic bottle packaging!

(3) 2 oz Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate Noodles - SCI

(3) 2 oz Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate Coarse SLSa

(2) 2 oz Bubble Up

(1) 2 oz Emulsifying Wax - Conditioning Plus

(1) 2 oz Babassu Oil

(1) 2 oz Sodium Lactate 60%

(1) 1/2 oz Silk Amino Acids Liquid

(1) 2 fl. oz Eucalyptus & Spearmint* FO 101

(1) 2 oz Preservative - Water Soluble PF (Compare to Germall Plus)

(1) 1 Mold Domed Oval Soap Mold (MW 203)

(1) 1 Each Hairnets - 24 inch Disposable

Recipe Ingredients:

• 4.05 oz. Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate Noodles - SCI
• 4.05 oz. Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate Coarse SLSa
• 2.90 oz. Bubble Up
• 0.95 oz. Emulsifying Wax - Conditioning Plus
• 0.70 oz. Babassu Oil
• 0.40 oz. Sodium Lactate 60%
• 0.30 oz. Silk Amino Acids Liquid
• 0.15 oz. Eucalyptus & Spearmint* FO 101
• 0.10 oz. Preservative - Water Soluble PF (Compare to Germall Plus)

Equipment From Home:

• (1) Double Boiler Pot
• (1) Water
• (1) Stove Top
• (1) Measuring Cup (16 oz.)
• (1) Mixing Spoon
• (1) Freezer
• (1) Scale - Digital Display
• (1) Thermometer

Directions:

NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices a mask. We also recommend a clean apron and workspace.

1. When working with lathanol powder, a face mask is recommended.
2. Prepare double boiler by adding water to bottom of double boiler and placing on stovetop until water is boiling.
3. To top pan of double boiler, add SCI noodles and bubble up and heat until noodles have melted down to a pasty consistency. Stir well.
4. Add lathanol powder, sodium lactate, silk amino acids, emulsifying wax and babassu oil and mix well. Keep over double boiler until wax has completely melted. Remove from heat and stir well.
5. When mixture has cooled to 122º F, add fragrance and preservative and mix well.
6. Spoon into molds and tap mold on counter.
7. Place in the freezer for an hour and then remove from mold, placing on a paper towel.
8. Let sit for 24-48 hours to let liquid evaporate before using.
9. Package and label accordingly.

TO USE: Wet your hair, and wet the bar. Rub the bar on your hair until you have the bubbles and lather you wish. Wash your hair. Rinse and repeat, if desired.
