Carrot Extract Facial Cleanser/Polisher Recipe

About This Recipe:

This gentle face cleanser, packed with nutrients and antioxidants from the carrot extracts, are thought to increase the skin's overall tone, health and appearance. The face polisher has added apricot seeds that act as a gentle exfoliant to help scrub away dead skin cells.

(2) 16 oz Liquid Suspension Soap Base

(1) 2 oz Carrot Powder

(1) 1/2 oz Carrot Seed Extract - Water Soluble

(1) 2 oz Apricot Seed Powder

Recipe Ingredients:

• 32 oz. Liquid Suspension Soap Base
• 2 Tablespoon(s) Carrot Powder
• 2 Teaspoon(s) Carrot Seed Extract - Water Soluble
• 2 Tablespoon(s) Apricot Seed Powder

Equipment From Home:

• (1) Glass Measuring Cup - 32 oz.
• (1) Small Bowl
• (1) Microwave
• (1) Mixing Spoon
• (1) Spatula
• (1) Wire Whisk
• (1) Scale - Digital Display
• (1) Measuring Spoons

Directions:

NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron and workspace.

1. FACE CLEANSER:
2. To a large glass measuring cup, add 17 oz. of Liquid Suspension Soap Base.
3. Heat in microwave for 60 seconds. Remove and gently stir.
4. In a small bowl, add 1 Tablespoon Carrot Powder. With the back of a spoon, smooth out any larger clumps of powder.
5. To the powder, add a small amount of the warm liquid soap. Using a small wire whisk, mix the powder in well. If there are small pieces of powder not mixed in, use the back of a spoon or a flat object to smooth these out.
6. Add this soap back into the larger container of Liquid Suspension Soap Base. Mix well with the wire whisk to incorporate. Mash up any larger specks of powder.
7. Add 1 teaspoon of Carrot Seed Extract and gently mix into soap.
8. Fill bottles to 4 oz. of product by weight. Bottles will not be filled to the top. 
9. Prop bottles in a cup, loaf mold or shoe box until product cools off so they can be capped.
10. FACE POLISHER:
11. Pour 15 oz. of Liquid Suspension Soap Base into a glass measuring cup. Place in microwave and heat for 60 seconds. Remove and gently stir.
12. In a small bowl, add 1 Tablespoon Carrot Powder. With the back of a spoon, smooth out any larger clumps of powder
13. To the powder, add a small amount of the warm liquid soap. Using a small wire whisk, mix the powder in well. Use the back of a spoon or a flat object to smooth out and lumps.
14. Add this soap back into the larger container of liquid soap. Mix well with the wire whisk to incorporate. Mash up any larger specks of powder.
15. Gently stir 1 teaspoon of Carrot Seed Extract along wth 2 Tablespoons of Apricot Seeds. 
16. Fill remaining 4 bottles with product and let cool completely before capping.
17. Prop bottles in a cup, loaf mold or shoe box until product cools off.
18. Package one of each product in an organza bag.
19. Label product accordingly.

TO USE: Face Cleanser: Place small amount of soap into palm of hand and add small amount of water. Gently mix in and apply to face in a circular motion. Rinse with warm water. Face Polisher: Use in place of cleanser when an extra exfoliant is needed. Apply to wet skin and gently massage in a circular motion. Rinse with warm water and pat skin dry.
