Watermelon Bubble Scoops

About This Recipe:

These summery scoops of bubbly goodness will fill your bath with colorful bubbles. The scent of fresh watermelon will fill your home each time you use them.

Shopping List:

(1) Distilled Water (not included in kit)

(1) 1 lb Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate)

(3) 2 oz Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate Coarse SLSa

(1) 1 lb Glycerin - Natural

(2) 2 oz Bubble Cake Hardener

(1) 2 oz Cornstarch - Pure

(1) 2 oz Vanilla Color Stabilizer - CP Soap

(1) 2 fl. oz Coastal Watermelon* Fragrance Oil 1199

(1) 2 oz MCT - Mid Chain Triglycerides Liquid

(1) 2.5 gm Bag Pink Watermelon Infusion Mica Powder

(1) 2.5 gm Bag NuTone Blue Mica Powder

(1) 2.5 gm Bag NuTone Yellow Mica Powder

(1) 1 Each Hairnets - 24 inch Disposable

(2) 1 Piece Droppers (Pipettes) - Plastic

(2) 1 Piece Scoop - 0.15 ml (Micro Size)

(2) 1 Piece Beaker - Natural Polypropylene

(4) 1 Jar 16 oz Clear Basic Plastic Jar -89/400

Recipe Ingredients:

• 0.50 oz. Distilled Water (not included in kit)
• 8.60 oz. Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate)
• 5.30 oz. Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate Coarse SLSa
• 4.25 oz. Glycerin - Natural
• 2.2 oz. Bubble Cake Hardener
• 1.75 oz. Cornstarch - Pure
• 5 ml(s) Vanilla Color Stabilizer - CP Soap
• 10 ml(s) Coastal Watermelon* Fragrance Oil 1199
• 0.50 oz. MCT - Mid Chain Triglycerides Liquid
• 1/8 Teaspoon(s) Pink Watermelon Infusion Mica Powder
• 1/8 Teaspoon(s) NuTone Blue Mica Powder
• 1/4 Teaspoon(s) NuTone Yellow Mica Powder

Equipment From Home:

• (1) Ice Cream Scoop - Squeeze Handle-1.5"
• (2) Large Mixing Bowls
• (1) Small Measuring Cup
• (1) Scale
• (1) Sifter (Optional)
• (1) Wire Whisk
• (1) Jelly Roll Pan
• (1) Distilled Water

Directions:

NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron, workspace and sanitized equipment.

1. We recommend using a mask when working with lathanol powder.  It is a very fine powder and becomes airborne very quickly.
2. To large mixing bowl, add baking soda, lathanol, bubble cake hardener and cornstarch.
3. Use a sifter or gloved hands to break up any clumps in the mixture.
4. Drizzle glycerin over mixture and mix with gloved hands.
5. To plastic beaker, add MCT and water. Drizzle over mixture and immediately mix with gloved hands.
6. Divide mixture between two bowls, about 10 oz. each.
7. To one plastic beaker, add 5 ml fragrance oil and 2.5 ml of stabilizer. Mix and set aside.
8. To other beaker, add 5 ml fragrance oil and 2.5 of stabilizer. Mix.  
9. Add pink mica to one beaker and blue and yellow mica to other beaker. Mix well.
10. Add pink color to one bowl and green color to other bowl. Mix each well with gloved hands.
11. Using the ice cream style scoop, fill with half pink and half green mixture. Pack tightly into the scoop about ¼” from the top. This will ensure you get 24 scoops from the mixture.  Place scoops onto a jelly roll pan.
12. Continue until all mixture is scooped. Let harden for about 24 hours. They do not need to be covered.
13. Package in jars and apply lids.
14. Label product accordingly.

To Use:  Crumble 1 bubble scoop under running water to create lots of bubbles.
