About This Recipe:
This shampoo recipe uses a shampoo base and incorporates ginseng, shea butter and fragrance for a lovely product. Crafter’s Choice Clear Conditioning Shampoo contains Cocamidopropyl Betaine, derived from Coconut Oil, to help control fly-away hair. Ginseng is thought to stimulate the scalp and help to strengthen hair. The Apple Gingham fragrance makes this a perfect match with our Apple Honey Hair Conditioner Recipe.

(1) 2 oz Polysorbate 20
(1) 2 oz Bubble Wash Thickener (Compare to Crothix)
(1) 1/2 oz Ginseng Extract - Water Soluble
(1) 2 fl. oz Gingham Apple* Fragrance Oil 758
(1) 2 oz Shea 50
(1) 5 ml Stained Glass Apple Red Liquid Color
(1) 1 Each Hairnets - 24 inch Disposable
(2) 1 Piece Droppers (Pipettes) - Plastic
(2) 1 Piece Beaker - Natural Polypropylene

Recipe Ingredients:
Measure ingredients with a scale or precise measuring tool.

• 32 oz. Clear Conditioning Shampoo
• 0.50 oz. Polysorbate 20
• 0.50 oz. Bubble Wash Thickener (Compare to Crothix)
• 0.35 oz. Ginseng Extract - Water Soluble
• 0.50 oz. Gingham Apple* Fragrance Oil 758
• 0.10 oz. Shea 50
• 2 Drop(s) Stained Glass Apple Red Liquid Color


Equipment From Home:
• (1) Microwave-Safe Measuring Cup (32-64 oz.)
• (1) Microwave
• (1) 1 Each Scale - Digital Display (Professional)
• (1) Spatula
• (1) Wire Whisk
• (1) Measuring Spoons
• (1) Scissors

Directions:
NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron and workspace.
  1. To large measuring cup, add shampoo base. Heat in microwave for one minute. Stir.
  2. Add ginseng extract, shea 50 and bubble wash thickener. Stir gently. 
  3. To beaker, mix fragrance and polysorbate 20 then pour into shampoo base. Stir gently. 
  4. Add 2 drops red color and blend.
  5. Carefully fill each bottle to approximately 8.20 oz. by weight. Let cool.
  6. Trim dip tubes to fit bottles and place on the bottles.
  7. Label product accordingly.
To Use: Apply to wet hair and massage to create lather. Rinse with warm water.
