Tropical Drink Lip Butter/Scrub Recipe

About This Recipe:

These luscious products will keep your lips smooth and moisturized during the warm summer months. The lip scrub gently scrubs off dry, flaky skin. The lip butter helps to keep those lips smooth and moisturized.

Shopping List:

(1) 2 oz Shea Butter - Ultra Refined

(1) 2 oz Cupuacu Butter

(2) 2 oz Castor Oil

(3) 2 oz Sugar - White Granulated Sugar

(1) 2 oz MCT - Mid Chain Triglycerides Liquid

(1) 1/2 oz Vitamin E Natural T-50

(1) 2 fl. oz Limeade - Sweetened Flavor Oil

(1) 2 fl. oz Pineapple Colada - Sweetened Flavor Oil 887

(2) 1 Piece Scoop - 0.15 ml (Micro Size)

(1) 2.5 gm Bag Summer Yellow Daisy Mica Powder

(1) 2.5 gm Bag NuTone Navy Mica Powder

(3) 1 Piece Droppers (Pipettes) - Plastic

(1) 1 Each Hairnets - 24 inch Disposable

Recipe Ingredients:

• 2 oz. Shea Butter - Ultra Refined
• 2 oz. Cupuacu Butter
• 3 oz. Castor Oil
• 6 oz. Sugar - White Granulated Sugar
• 1 oz. MCT - Mid Chain Triglycerides Liquid
• 2 ml(s) Vitamin E Natural T-50
• 4 ml(s) Limeade - Sweetened Flavor Oil
• 2 ml(s) Pineapple Colada - Sweetened Flavor Oil 887
• 2 Piece(s) Scoop - 0.15 ml (Micro Size)
• 3 .15 ml Scoop Summer Yellow Daisy Mica Powder
• 1 .15 ml Scoop NuTone Navy Mica Powder

Equipment From Home:

• (1) Mixing Bowl
• (1) Hand Mixer
• (1) Mixing Spoon

Directions:

NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron and workspace.

1. For Pina Colada Lip Butter:
2. To a heat-safe pan, add the Shea Butter, Cupuacu Butter and 2 oz. Castor Oil. On low heat, melt until completely liquid.
3. Add 1 ml Vitamin E and 2 ml Pineapple Colada Flavor Oil to the melted butters.
4. Add two 0.15 ml scoops of the Yellow Mica Powder to the melted butters and stir until evenly dispersed. Set aside while you make the Lip Scrub.
5. For Lip Scrub:
6. In a bowl, measure 6 oz. of granulated sugar. Add the 1 oz. Mid Chain Triglycerides Liquid and 1 oz. Castor Oil. Stir until sugar is evenly coated in oil.
7. Add 1 ml Vitamin E and 4 ml Limeade Sweetened Flavor Oil and stir.
8. Stir in 1 scoop of NuTone Navy Mica Powder and 2 scoops of the Yellow Mica Powder.
9. Fill 10 of the jars with the sugar scrub. Apply Press & Seal Liners to jars. Since this is a product being placed on the lips, we recommend using the sealers to prevent tampering.
10. If your Lip Butter has not yet started to thicken, place the container in either refrigerator or freezer for a few minutes. When the oils and butters come to a semi-solid consistency, use a hand mixer to whip to a fluffy cream-like texture.
11. Carefully scoop into the remaining 10 jars and allow to come to room temperature before adding the Press & Seal Liner and capping.
12. This butter will harden once it comes to room temperature and will not stay fluffy and soft. However, it will easily melt with body temperature. 
13. Package one of each product into a cello bag and tie with raffia.
14. Label product accordingly.

TO USE: First apply a small amount of Lip Scrub to your lip and gently massage to exfoliate. Wipe off with a tissue or cloth. Finish with the Lip Butter to moisturize.

NOTE: It is not recommended to leave this in a purse or car during warm weather.
