Dry Shampoo

About This Recipe:

This dry shampoo is a must-have around the house. It absorbs oil without drying out scalp or hair.  Arrowroot powder gently absorbs oil while the baking soda helps to absorb odor. The scent of Lemongrass Verbena will leave hair with a fresh scent all day. This has been designed for use on dark hair. For lighter brown hair, substitute Rhassoul Clay for the kaolin.

(3) 2 oz Arrowroot Powder

(1) 2 oz White Kaolin Clay

(1) 2 oz Slick Fix - Oil Locking Powder

(1) 2 fl. oz Lemongrass Verbena* - EO & FO Blend 357

(4) 1 Set 05 oz Paper Powder Shaker Container - White

(1) 1 Each Hairnets - 24 inch Disposable

(1) 1 Piece Beaker - Natural Polypropylene

Recipe Ingredients:

• 13.20 oz. Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate)
• 5 oz. Arrowroot Powder
• 1 oz. White Kaolin Clay
• 0.60 oz. Slick Fix - Oil Locking Powder
• 0.20 oz. Lemongrass Verbena* - EO & FO Blend 357
• 4 Piece(s) 05 oz Paper Powder Shaker Container - White

Equipment From Home:

• (1) Large Mixing Bowl
• (1) Small Mixing Bowl
• (1) Wire Whisk
• (1) Powder Sifter

Directions:

NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron and workspace.

1. To large mixing bowl, add baking soda, arrowroot powder and kaolin clay*. Blend with wire whisk until well incorporated.
2. To small bowl add Slick Fix. Slowly add fragrance oil and mix well. This may cause the powder to clump. Using a powder sifter, sift mixture to remove clumps and create a fine powder. Add this to large mixing bowl and blend well.
3. Using a funnel, fill each shaker with 5 oz. of product. Firmly apply plastic bottom to shaker base.
4. Label product accordingly. 
   *For light brown to brown hair use Rhassoul Clay in place of Slate Kaolin Clay.

To Use: Shake over hair, working through to scalp to absorb oils. Brush out.
