Honey and Bee Pollen Face Cream

About This Recipe:

This lotion contains Bee Pollen which has become quite a trendy ingredient in cosmetics. Manuka Honey is a type of honey native to New Zealand.  Both ingredients are thought to have anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Use day or night to help keep skin moisturized and nourished. The natural fragrance of Honey Blossom combines notes of jasmine, peach blossom and honeycomb to give this a sweet, honey scent.  Please Note: If you are allergic to bee stings, we recommend not using this lotion.

(1) 2 oz Potassium Sorbate Powder

Recipe Ingredients:

• 9.15 oz. Distilled Water
• 0.60 oz. Meadowfoam Seed Oil
• 0.60 oz. Rice Bran Oil
• 0.50 oz. Cetyl Alcohol Flakes
• 0.25 oz. Bee Pollen Extract - Water Soluble
• 0.25 oz. Manuka Honey Extract - Water Soluble
• 0.25 oz. Emulsifying Wax - Soft & Silky
• 0.25 oz. Honeyquat
• 0.25 oz. Honey Blossoms - Natural Fragrance Oil (Special Order)
• 0.15 oz. Vitamin E Natural T-50
• 0.15 oz. Potassium Sorbate Powder

Equipment From Home:

• (1) Microwave
• (1) Microwave-Safe Measuring Cup (8 oz.)
• (1) Microwave-Safe Measuring Cup (16 oz.)
• (1) Scale - Digital Display
• (1) Stick Blender
• (1) Small Bowl
• (1) Small Wire Whisk and Spatula

Directions:

NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron and workspace.

1. To microwave-safe measuring cup, add water. Set aside.
2. To second microwave-safe measuring cup, add Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Emulsifying Wax and Cetyl Alcohol. Heat in microwave until waxes have melted.  
3. Heat water in microwave for 2 minutes. Add Bee Pollen and Manuka Honey Extracts and stir.
4. Slowly pour water mixture into melted wax mixture and begin to stick blend.
5. Continue until all ingredients are incorporated and lotion begins to thicken.
6. In a separate bowl, mix Honeyquat, Vitamin E and fragrance. Add in Potassium Sorbate powder and mix well with wire whisk. 
7. Add mixture to lotion and stir until all ingredients are mixed well.
8. Fill jars to approximately 1.90 oz. each. Let cool completely then apply lids.
9. Label product accordingly.

To Use: Gently apply to face and neck area as needed.
