Ghostly Body Bombs

About This Recipe:

These cute little ghosts are like a bath bomb for the shower. Simply add water to the body bomb and watch it foam up. You can then use this foam as a "soap" to wash with. This 1.20 oz. size is perfect for the shower.

(1) 1 Block Black Knight Sparkle Mica Soap Color Blocks

Recipe Ingredients:

• 7.0 oz. Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate)
• 4.60 oz. Bubble Cake Hardener
• 4.0 oz. Citric Acid Powder
• 1.60 oz. Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate Coarse SLSa
• 1.50 oz. Arrowroot Powder
• 0.60 oz. Bubble Up
• 0.40 oz. Coconut Oil - 76º Melt
• 0.40 oz. Lemon Sage Ginger - Natural Fragrance Oil 1189
• 0.50 oz. Glycerin - Natural
• 1/4 Piece(s) Black Knight Sparkle Mica Soap Color Blocks

Equipment From Home:

• (1) Coffee Grinder
• (1) Scale - Digital Display
• (1) Large Mixing Bowl
• (1) Wire Whisk
• (1) Cup of Hot Water
• (1) Gloves
• (2) Objects to Suspend Silicone Mold
• (1) Plastic Wrap
• (1) Wax Paper
• (1) Small Glass Bowl
• (1) Child's Paintbrush

Directions:

NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron and workspace.

1. (We recommend using a mask when working with lathanol powder.  It is a very fine powder and becomes airborne very quickly.)
2. To make a full recipe of 16 body bombs, the recipe must be made in two batches.
3. Grind citric acid and baking soda separately in a coffee grinder to make the powders finer.
4. To a large mixing bowl, add 3.5 oz. Baking Soda  and 2.0 oz. Citric Acid. If necessary, break up any clumps in the mixture.
5. Add 2.30 oz. Bubble Cake Hardener, 0.75 oz. Arrowroot Powder and 0.80 oz. Lathanol. Whisk ingredients until well blended. Set aside.
6. If Coconut 76 Oil is solid, place bottle in hot water until completely melted.  
7. To dry mixture, add 0.20 oz. Coconut 76 Oil, 0.30 oz. Bubble Up and 0.20 oz. fragrance. Mix well with gloved hands until completely incorporated.
8. Fill all eight mold cavities with mixture. Fill them half way, firmly pressing down on the mixture in each cavity. Divide the remaining mixture between the cavities, flattening and smoothing the mixture in each cavity.
9. Prop up the mold between two objects so the mold is not sitting flat on the table. This will prevent the ghosts from having a flat top. We suspended our mold between two regular loaf silicone molds.
10. Cover the mold with plastic wrap. If in a humid climate, the mixture may grow or rise. Continue to push mixture back down until it no longer rises. Let harden overnight.     
11. Carefully remove from mold and set on wax paper.
12. If desired, repeat above steps to make second set of 8 body bombs. 
13. In a small container, melt 1/4 of the black soap color block.  Add a small amount of glycerin to help keep the color liquid. 
14. Using a small child's paintbrush paint a face, as desired, on each ghost. Remelt soap, as needed, while painting. Set aside to dry.
15. Package body bombs as desired. We chose to package in small poly bags and tie with ribbon.
16. Label product accordingly.

To Use: Hold body bomb in one hand and add small amount of warm water. Bomb will start to fizz up and create a creamy foam that is used to wash with. Use one body bomb per shower.
