About This Recipe:
Soap is one of the best ways to clean and remove germs from hands. We used our Tussah Silk soap base which will leave a silky smooth feel to the skin.  We also added essential oils of Lemongrass, Eucalyptus, Lavender and Sweet Orange which are thought to have antibacterial properties.

Recipe Ingredients:
Measure ingredients with a scale or precise measuring tool.

• 46 oz. Premium Tussah Silk MP Soap Base - 2 lb Tray
• 0.10 oz. Lemongrass EO - Certified 100% Pure 138
• 0.10 oz. Eucalyptus (80/82) EO - Certified 100% Pure 705
• 0.10 oz. Orange (Sweet) EO - Certified 100% Pure 134
• 0.10 oz. Lavender 40/42 EO - Certified 100% Pure 139
• 0.50 oz. Walnut Shell Powder


Equipment From Home:
• (1) Microwave
• (1) Microwave-Safe Measuring Cup - 32 oz.
• (1) Scale - Digital Display
• (1) Soap Cutter and Cutting Mat
• (1) Spatula
• (1) Spray Bottle with Rubbing Alcohol

Directions:
NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron, workspace and sanitized equipment.
  1. Weigh and cut up 23 oz. of Tussah Silk MP soap. Place soap into large microwaveable measuring cup. Heat in microwave until soap has completely melted.
  2. Stir in 0.25 oz. (1 Tbsp.) Walnut Shell Powder and 0.05 oz. of each essential oil. We added the essentials at a total of 1% of all four oils. You can choose to double the amount (0.10 oz. each) if a stronger scent is desired.  
  3. Let soap cool to help suspend walnut shell powder. Once soap forms a skin on top, stir skin into soap and then pour soap into mold, filling all four cavities to the top. You want to see the soap come up under the top rim to get a nice round bar.
  4. Spritz top of soap with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol and let soap completely harden.
  5. Remove bars from mold and wrap soap as desired in airtight packaging.
  6. Repeat above steps to make remaining four soap bars.
  7. Label product accordingly.
To Use: Lather onto wet skin, scrub hands well, rinse with warm water.
