Tangy Lemon Body Yogurt

About This Recipe:

This refreshing body lotion will feel cool when applied to your skin. Sweet Almond Oil and Shea Butter will help to moisturize and leave skin feeling soft.

(1) 2 oz Cetyl Alcohol Flakes

(1) 2 oz LuxGlide N350 (Natural Dimethicone Alternative)

(1) 2 oz Polysorbate 80

(1) 1/2 oz Vitamin E Natural T-50

(1) 2 oz Preservative – Phenoxyethanol + CG (Compare to Optiphen)

(1) 2 fl. oz Lemon EO - Certified 100% Pure 140

(1) 2 oz Xanthan Gum

(1) 5 ml Stained Glass Lemon Yellow Liquid Color

(4) 1 Jars 08 oz Clear Basic Plastic Jar - 70/400

Recipe Ingredients:

• 22.50 oz. Distilled Water
• 3.0 oz. Sweet Almond Oil - Refined
• 0.90 oz. Shea Butter - Ultra Refined
• 1.20 oz. Emulsifying Wax - Soft & Silky
• 0.60 oz. Cetyl Alcohol Flakes
• 0.60 oz. Glycerin - Natural
• 0.30 oz. LuxGlide N350 (Natural Dimethicone Alternative)
• 0.30 oz. Polysorbate 80
• 0.10 oz. Vitamin E Natural T-50
• 0.30 oz. Preservative – Phenoxyethanol + CG (Compare to Optiphen)
• 0.30 oz. Lemon EO - Certified 100% Pure 140
• 1/2-3/4 Teaspoon(s) Xanthan Gum
• 8-10 Drop(s) Stained Glass Lemon Yellow Liquid Color

Equipment From Home:

• (2) Microwave-Safe Measuring Cup (32 oz.)
• (1) Microwave
• (1) Scale - Digital Display
• (1) Stick Blender or Hand Mixer
• (1) Thermometer - Digital
• (1) Mixing Spoon and Spatula

Directions:

NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron, workspace and sanitized equipment.

1. In microwave-safe measuring cup, add Sweet Almond Oil, Shea Butter, Emulsifying Wax and Cetyl Alcohol. Heat until completely melted.
2. Place water in second microwave-safe measuring cup and heat until water reaches about 125°F. 
3. Slowly add water to melted oils and wax. Using stick blender or hand mixer, blend until all ingredients are incorporated.
4. Add Glycerin, LuxGlide and Polysorbate 80. Stick blend again.
5. Let product cool to about 100°F. Add Vitamin E, Preservative and Essential Oil.
6. Add drops of color until desired shade is reached.
7. Add Xanthan Gum and stick blend to thicken product. Add slightly more if a thicker consistency is desired. Add a very small amount as too much will turn lotion gummy.
8. Fill jars to approximately 6.8 ounces and apply lids.
9. Label product accordingly.

To Use: Apply to skin as desired.
