Sweet Sampler Lip Balm Recipe

About This Recipe:

Creates 48 tubes of deliciously flavored lip balm with some of our favorite flavor oils – Strawberry, Vanilla, Watermelon and Pear & Coconut for you to play with. Package up to 12 sets of your custom lip balms to sell or share with friends and family.

(1) 1 lb (single jar) Lip Balm Base for Sticks

(1) 2 fl. oz Sugared Strawberry - Sweetened Flavor Oil 812

(1) 2 fl. oz Vanilla Mint - Sweetened Flavor Oil 815

(1) 2 fl. oz Classic Watermelon - Sweetened Flavor Oil 800

(1) 2 fl. oz Pear & Coconut - Sweetened Flavor Oil 886

(4) 1 Piece Droppers (Pipettes) - Plastic

(1) 48 Each 0.15 oz White Lip Tube Only - Round

(1) 48 Piece Lip Tube Cap: White

Recipe Ingredients:

• 10 oz. Lip Balm Base for Sticks
• 1 ml(s) Sugared Strawberry - Sweetened Flavor Oil 812
• 1 ml(s) Vanilla Mint - Sweetened Flavor Oil 815
• 1 ml(s) Classic Watermelon - Sweetened Flavor Oil 800
• 1 ml(s) Pear & Coconut - Sweetened Flavor Oil 886

Equipment From Home:

• (4) Beakers
• (1) Microwave
• (1) Scale
• (4) Spatulas/Mixing Spoons

Directions:

NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron and workspace.

1. Add 2.5 oz Lip Balm Base for Sticks into microwave-safe beaker.
2. Microwave in 15 second increments until the base is completely melted.
3. Add 1 mL of Sugared Strawberry Sweetened Flavor Oil to the melted lip balm and stir.
4. Allow the lip balm to cool to 130°
5. Fill lip balm tubes to the top and allow to harden.
6. If necessary, remelt remaining lip balm and repour to fill any sinkholes.
7. Snap on the caps and label accordingly.
8. Repeat steps 1-7 for remaining flavors as desired.
9. Mix/match finished products in boxed sets of four.

To Use: Apply to lips as desired.
