When Nathan Walden decided to start making his own natural soaps in an effort to finally cure his dermatitis, there’s no way he could have foreseen it turning into a full-time business, let alone a way to give back to those most in need.
Nathan is the founder of
Hope Soap Ohio, a company based in Cuyahoga Falls, OH that manufactures high quality soap, candles and personal care products made with high-quality, natural ingredients suitable for all skin types. Mass-produced products continually hurt his skin, so he decided to seek out a product that allowed him to control the quality of the ingredients. Naturally, he found the best way to do that was to make it himself, and immediately saw positive results.
Friends and family kept asking to buy his new, skin-friendly soap, so Nathan started making it in greater quantities and selling them out of his home. As the business grew, Nathan used the revenue not only to launch a website and open a storefront for Hope Soap, but to do even more.
Never one to be comfortable with the bare minimum, Nathan uses the profits from Hope Soap to fund his long-standing work of aiding the houseless community in Akron, OH. For years, before he even thought about making soap, Nathan has been organizing relief work where he and other volunteers go out once a month into the community to serve hot meals, hand out hygiene necessities like soap and assist with employment searches for those looking to get back on their feet.
Being able to support these longtime efforts with his newfound soap business was a dream come true. In fact, for every item sold through Hope Soap Ohio, the company donates a bar of soap to someone in need. “Hope for your skin and hope for someone else,” Nathan says on his website. A simple act that ripples throughout the community.
Wholesale Supplies Plus (WSP) has long admired Nathan’s work and Hope Soap Ohio, and wanted to find a way to partner with him that would both tell his story and support his mission. So, WSP invited him to come and formulate his own, unique fragrance oil. As they sat and brainstormed ideas and sampled scents, Nathan kept coming back to a word that held a lot of meaning for him: “fulfilled.” His ability to give back and support the houseless community is what fulfills and enriches his life, and he wanted his fragrance to emulate that feeling.
With that,
Giving Tree Fragrance Oil was born. With top notes of plum and berries, middle notes of violet, rose and cashmere, and base notes of cedarwood, sandalwood and musk, this scent offers a lovely, full-bodied, fulfilling fragrance that leaves you with a sense of true satisfaction.
Giving Tree Fragrance Oil is available right now on the WSP website and, for a limited time, we’ll be donating a portion of all proceeds to Nathan to further support his mission of bringing hope to Akron’s houseless community, and to further inspire our WSP community to make a difference in their own communities.
