Directions:
NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron and workspace. - Place plastic mold on cookie sheet for stability.
- To a plastic beaker, add 1 oz. clear soap base. Add .05 oz. red color block. Heat in microwave until melted. Using plastic dropper, add .5 ml fragrance oil and stir.
- Pour soap into 12 stars. Spritz with rubbing alcohol.
- To another beaker, add 1 oz. of clear soap. Add .05 oz. blue color block. Heat in microwave until melted. Using plastic dropper, add .5 ml fragrance oil and stir.
- Pour into 12 stars and spritz with alcohol. Let harden. Mold can be placed in freezer for 30 minutes to harden and to make it easier to unmold. Once set, remove stars and set aside.
- To plastic beaker, add 1 oz. clear soap. Heat in microwave until melted. Add 6-8 drops of titanium dioxide liquid pigment and .5 ml fragrance oil. Stir well and pour into 12 stars. Let harden then remove from mold.
- Using a Mix and Pour Funnel, add 18 oz. of cut up crystal clear soap. Heat in microwave just until melted. If funnel pitcher is not available, a microwave-safe cup with pour spout can be used.
- Spritz all the stars, front and back, with rubbing alcohol.
- When soap has cooled to under 130°F, fill first mold cavity about 1/4 full. Place 2 stars into soap. Pour a little more clear soap, then add 2 more stars. Repeat, again, until there are 2 stars of each color in the mold. Try to keep stars located towards the middle of the mold so the clear soap surrounds the stars. Spritz soap with rubbing alcohol.
- Continue in this manner, filling one cavity at a time, until all six soap pops are filled. If soap starts to thicken, heat briefly in microwave.
- Position a stick down into each soap, leaving about 2 1/2" sticking out of the mold. Try to place it between two stars. Place cover over the mold to hold the sticks in place until the soap has set. Let soap completely harden.
- To unmold, gently pull sides away from soap. Push from bottom until silicone releases from soap. Continue to push up until soap is far enough out to grab and pull out of mold. DO NOT GRAB SOAP BY THE STICK.
- We recommend wrapping soap in plastic wrap, place in cello bag and tie closed.
- Label product accordingly. Be sure to add to label “DO NOT EAT. REMOVE STICK BEFORE USING”.
