The fleur de lis has often been associated with hospitality and these gilded fleur de lis soaps are perfect for your guests! These soaps radiate a sweet and subtle fragrance of ripe blackberries mingled with notes of apple, magnolia, melon and sugar crystals. The mica painting technique gives them a handmade look and the design will hold up well to packaging.

Directions:
WARNING: This project and these instructions have been written for someone who has experience making soap and knows the potential dangers due to working with sodium hydroxide. It will not outline all safety methods of working with dangerous chemicals, it is simply a soap recipe for advanced soap makers.- Weigh the water and sodium hydroxide into separate containers. Pour the Lye into the Water. Carefully mix in a well-ventilated area and set aside to cool.
- Add Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Safflower Oil and Palm Kernel Flakes to microwave-safe measuring cup and melt in the microwave. Set aside.
- Measure Fragrance Oil and set aside.
- When both the Lye mixture and the Oils are 120°F, or below, mix Sodium Lactate into lye water and then pour the Lye mixture into the Oils. Stick blend until you reach a thin trace. Add Fragrance Oil and blend with a few short bursts until incorporated.
- Pour soap into all mold cavities, tap molds on counter top to pop any air bubbles.
- Allow to set for 24 hours or longer until soap is firm enough to unmold. Place molds in freezer for 30 minutes and soaps will easily come out.
- Mix Copper Powder and Black Powder together in clean beaker with Rubbing Alcohol. Using a small paint brush, paint the fleur de lis detail on each soap. Let soap cure 4-6 weeks.
- Label accordingly.
To Use: Lather with water onto skin. Rinse off. Avoid contact with eyes.
