Directions:
WARNING: This project and these instructions have been written for someone who has experience making soap and knows the potential dangers due to working with sodium hydroxide. It will not outline all safety methods of working with dangerous chemicals, it is simply a soap recipe for advanced soap makers.- Weigh the water and sodium hydroxide into two separate polypropylene containers. Pour the Lye into the Water. Stir until lye has completely dissolved then set aside to cool.
- Add Pomace Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Sunflower Oil, Shea Butter and Castor Oil to measuring cup and melt in the microwave. Set aside.
- Add fragrance oil to a plastic beaker and set aside.
- Add Woodland Green Powder to 8 oz. plastic cup, Caramel Brown Powder to a beaker and add a small amount of melted oils to each. Mix well and set aside.
- When both the lye mixture and the oils are 120°F, or below, mix Sodium Lactate into lye-water and then pour the lye mixture into the Oils. Stick blend until you reach a thin trace. Add Fragrance Oil and blend with a few short bursts until incorporated.
- Pour 4 oz. soap batter into the green colorant and mix well. Pour into the mold and tap on counter to release any air bubbles.
- Pour 2 oz. soap batter into the Caramel Brown colorant and mix well. Pour into empty squeeze bottle and set aside for later.
- Add Golden Pineapple Powder to remaining soap batter. Mix well and then spoon the batter over the green layer of soap being careful not to break through. Tap mold on counter to release air bubbles.
- Using soap in squeeze bottle, make diamond pattern on top of the soap to resemble a pineapple and add a dot of soap inside each diamond.
- Allow to set for 24 hours or longer until soap is firm enough to unmold. Unmold and slice. Let soap cure 4-6 weeks. Package and label accordingly.
To Use: Lather with water onto skin. Rinse off. Avoid contact with eyes.
