Directions:
NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron. - For Crust:To a microwave-safe measuring cup, add 5.5 oz. of cut up white soap base. Heat in microwave until melted. Add 0.25 oz. walnut shell powder and stir into soap.
- Place mold on scale and tare to zero. Pour slightly under 1 oz. into each mold cavity. Let harden.
- For Filling: To a microwave-safe measuring cup, add 28 oz. of cut up clear soap base. Heat in microwave until melted.
- Add 1/2 teaspoon Copper Mica Powder. Mix with wire whisk until blended well. Add about 10 drops of Citrus Orange Liquid Dye and mix well.
- In plastic beaker, mix together 0.80 oz. fragrance oil with 0.40 oz. vanilla stabilizer. Mix well and let sit for 2 minutes. Add to melted soap.
- Spritz bottom layer generously with alcohol. Mix soap before pouring to keep mica color blended. Pour "pumpkin filling" over oatmeal soap leaving about 1/4" for topping. Fill all 6 cavities and then spritz with alcohol to release any bubbles. Let soap harden.
- For Topping: Cut up 12 oz. white soap base and melt in microwave. Add 1 oz. liquid glycerin.
- When temperature of soap cools to about 135-140°F, mix soap with hand mixer just until soap starts to get frothy and thicken slightly.
- Very quickly, pour or spoon soap topping over the top of each bar. It should spread easily. Then take a spoon and gently make little peaks in the topping. It will harden fast so this entire step needs to be done quickly. NOTE: If the topping hardens too quickly, heat in microwave for about 10 seconds. Mix, again, until slightly frothy then pour over soap
- Once the soap has peaks, sprinkle with mica. Let cool completely.
- Unmold and wrap in plastic wrap or other airtight packaging of choice. If desired, tie with raffia to give them a fall holiday look.
- Label product accordingly.
To Use: Lather onto wet skin and rinse with warm water.
