The moisturizing ingredients in this lotion are packed full of essential fatty acids which create soothing emollient properties for the skin. The isopropyl myristate gives the lotion a non-greasy feel while the rosemary fragrance leaves the skin feeling invigorated and refreshed.
NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron and workspace.
To a large glass bowl add 48 ounces of water and set aside.
To second large bowl, add stearic acid, emulsifying wax, oils and butters. Heat in microwave until waxes have completely melted.
Heat water in microwave for 3 minutes. Add vanilla hydrosol to water and pour into melted wax/oils mixture.
Using a stick blender or hand mixer, begin to blend ingredients. Continue blending until mixture starts to thicken or for about 1 minute.
Add isopropyl myristate, fragrance and rosemary oleoresin extract (ROE). Blend to incorporate additives.
Once additves are mixed in well, turn off mixer. Check temperature of lotion to be sure it is below 176°F. Add the preservative and blend in well.
Fill bottles to 8 oz. by weight. Divide up any remaining product. Let cool completely before applying pumps. Trim dip tubes with scissors to fit length of bottle before placing into lotion.
