This recipe uses our new pet shampoo base which will create lots of bubbles. We have added a little extra oatmeal to help soothe itchy skin. The base also contains small amounts of Tea Tree and Rosemary Essential oils which is great for a dogs skin and fur.
NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron, workspace and sanitized equipment.
Empty contents of both bottles of Pampering Pet Shampoo into a large measuring cup. Be sure to get as much product out of the bottles as possible so your shampoo bottles are filled to the proper weight.
Add Colloidal Oatmeal to a small mixing bowl. Mix in enough shampoo to create a paste. Whisk or mix product well until the powder is mixed in and most of the clumps have been broken up.
Add this mixture to the larger measuring cup and gently stir until completely incorporated. You may see some small pieces of oatmeal. Try to break these up if you can but it is fine if some small pieces remain.
Mix in the fragrance oil and stir.
Fill four bottles to 8 ounces each. Apply caps.
Label product accordingly.
To Use: Apply to wet dog and shampoo into fur. The oatmeal may settle to the bottom. Shake well before using.
Variations: Neem Oil (helps with ticks and fleas) can be added at 1% or 0.30 oz. to this recipe. To make a full gallon: Pet Shampoo = 135 oz., Colloidal Oatmeal = 2.7 oz., Fragrance = 1.35 oz. (Neem Oil if adding = 1.35 oz.) This will yield approximately 16 - 8.5 oz. bottles.
