Directions:
WARNING: This project and these instructions have been written for someone who has experience making soap and knows the potential dangers due to working with sodium hydroxide. It will not outline all safety methods of working with dangerous chemicals, it is simply a soap recipe for advanced soap makers.
  1. Day 1: Assemble the heart column mold being sure the sides and bottoms are securely fastened. For added stability, use heavy duty binder clips to keep the sides securely fastened. Place column mold in a plastic container or box should the mold leak product.
  2. Using a polypropylene pitcher, add 4.56 oz. distilled water. To a polypropylene container add 1.65 oz. sodium hydroxide. Slowly add lye to water and stir until dissolved. Set aside to cool.
  3. In stainless steel pot, add 3.6 oz. Coconut 76 Oil, 2.4 oz. Sunflower Oil, 0.48 oz. Mango Butter, 1.2 oz. Babassu Oil, 1.2 oz. Jojoba Oil, 0.72 oz. Shea Butter and 2.4 oz. Castor Oil.
  4. Heat over low heat until oils and butters have melted. Set aside to cool.
  5. To three plastic containers, add 1/8  tsp. Matte Black Powder, 1/8 tsp. NuTone Red and 1/16 tsp. Plumberry Pink. To a plastic beaker, add 1/4 tsp. Titanium Dioxide. To each container, add a small amount of melted oils to mix into the powdered colors.
  6. When both the lye water and butters are around 100°F, slowly pour lye water into oils. Stick blend just until light trace. Add 0.75 oz. fragrance and hand-stir into mixture.
  7. Pour 3 oz. of batter into each plastic container. To remaining batter in metal pot, add white color from plastic beaker. Mix color by hand until blended. Stick blend very briefly. Hand stir remaining colors into the batter then briefly stick blend the pink first, the red, and the black last. Do not overmix so the batter becomes too thick.
  8. Take first color and pour into four areas in the white batter. Be sure to hold the container up high when pouring. This will help the colors go to the bottom of the pot. Do the same with the second color and then the third, pouring in different areas of the pot.
  9. When finished, take a skewer or wooden dowel and swirl the colors briefly. Pour soap into column mold stopping to tap on the counter about half way through. Fill mold to the top and tap again to release any air bubbles. Let set overnight or 24 hours. Remove from mold and trim sides of any excess soap. Set aside.
  10. Day 2: To a clean polypropylene pitcher, add 9.12 oz. of distilled water.  To a clean polypropylene container, add 3.3 oz. sodium hydroxide. Pour the lye into the water and stir until completely dissolved. Set aside in a safe area to cool.
  11. In a clean stainless steel pot, weigh 7.2 oz. Coconut 76 Oil, 4.8 oz. Sunflower Oil, 2.4 oz. Babassu Oil, 2.4 oz. Jojoba Oil, 4.8 oz. Castor Oil, 1.44 oz. Shea Butter, 0.96 oz. Mango Butter.  Heat over stove top until all ingredients are liquid. Set aside to cool.
  12. Using two 4 oz. plastic containers, add 1/8 tsp. Matte Black Pigment Powder to one and 1/8 tsp. Plumberry Pink powder to the second.
  13. Using a plastic beaker, add 1/4 tsp Titanium Dioxide for oil. Pour a small amount of melted oils into each container to mix into the powdered colors.
  14. When the lye water and oils have cooled down to below 110°F, pour the lye water into the oils. Stick blend to a very light trace. Add in 1.5 oz. fragrance oil and stir batter by hand.
  15. To the container with black color, add 4 oz. batter. To the container with pink, add 8 oz. Mix both containers by hand until color is well incorporated.
  16. Starting with black, pour entire batter into the bottom of the Regular Silicone Loaf Mold. Spread batter to the sides and tap gently on the counter to even out the soap.
  17. Gently spoon pink batter over the black. You don't want the pink to break through the black so that is why it is spooned. Smooth out batter when finished.
  18. To the stainless steel pot, add the white color and stir in by hand. Stick blend very briefly.
  19. Spoon batter into mold filling about 1/3 full mounding it slightly down the middle. Place heart embed into mold sitting on top of batter so the heart is partially sticking out of the top of the mold. Spoon remaining batter around the embed pushing it gently against the side of the embed so there are no air bubbles. The soap can be mounded up on both sides of the heart to use up  all the batter.
  20. Gently tap mold on counter a few times and then let soap set overnight or about 24 hours. If soap is too soft, let soap set another 12 hours or place in freezer for 1 hour.
  21. Carefully unmold soap from mold and slice into 8 one-inch slices. Let cure for 4-6 weeks.
  22. Package as desired and label product accordingly.
To Use:  Lather onto wet skin and rinse with warm water. Avoid contact with eyes.
