First, you’ll have to decide which soap base grade you’re interested in using. Crafter’s Choice soaps come in three types – basic, detergent free, and premium:

Basic soap bases are some of the most popular on the market, as they are easy to work with and have exceptional performance.

Detergent free soaps do not contain synthetic detergents or parabens, with 100% of the lather coming from saponification of natural oils.

Premium soap bases are what we’d consider “best of the best” in the handmade industry. They are formulated with high-performance, high-lather ingredients which produce exceptional skincare results.

Once you’ve decided which soap grade you want to use, it’s time to decide which type of melt & pour soap base to try.

Aloe Vera Soap Base contains real aloe vera, which is known to hydrate skin. This soap base has a clear, light green color.

American Citrus Soap Base is a detergent-free base with an orange hue and slight sweet blood-orange and tangerine scent. This base is an excellent choice if you’re looking to create a citrus-y summer soap without using fragrance oil.

Baby Buttermilk Soap Base contains buttermilk which is high in triglyceride content making it an excellent natural moisturizer. This soap also contains oatmeal, calendula extract and real natural honey.

Clear Soap Base is ideal for embeds and making other decorative designs where clarity is important.

Coconut Milk Soap Base is thought to be high in antioxidants as well as triglycerides, making it an excellent natural moisturizer for the skin. It helps boost lather and cleaning while eliminating harsh detergents.

Coffee House Soap Base contains real Arabica coffee and smells like your favorite local coffee spot. This soap base is brown, but still boasts a clarity score of 9 out of 10.

Goat Milk Soap Bases contain added goat milk, with Vitamin A, B6, B12 and E as well as beta-casein which all help to hydrate and nourish skin. While this soap base is great for many, keep in mind there will be some people who cannot use it due to allergies.

Hemp Soap Base contains hemp oil, which is considered to be high in phospholipids, antioxidants and omega 3’s.

Honey Soap Bases contain honey, which is thought to have antimicrobial benefits. This soap base has a brown hue, and delicious honey scent.

Moroccan Argan Soap Base is an opaque, white detergent-free soap base with luxurious Moroccan argan oil.

Oatmeal Soap Bases contain real oatmeal, which is thought to moisturize the skin and relieve itching. The oatmeal does add texture to this soap base, so it may not be the best choice if you’re looking for a smooth bar of soap.

Shave & Shampoo Soap Base has a creamy lather that is ideal for shave and shampoo needs. It is fortified with pure argan oil, silk protein and honey protein, which are thought to pamper while helping to moisturize. This base is naturally cloudy with no added pigments.

Shea Butter Soap Bases contain real shea butter, which is known to have excellent moisturizing properties. Shea butter contains a variety of vitamins and fatty acids that nourish and condition skin.

Tea Tree Soap Base is detergent-free, with a green hue and smells slightly of tea tree essential oil.

Three Butter Soap Bases are loaded with the triple action of shea butter, cocoa butter and mango butter – all of which are thought to benefit dry skin.

Tussah Silk Soap Base is an opaque, white base that contains tussah silk and features a luxurious, big bubble lather.
White Soap Bases are white for making decorative designs where a bright-white base is needed.
