"Taste/smell" COMMENTS:  I really like the texture. However, the smell and taste of this product is horrendous. Even with the full flavor oil load the taste of the base still overpowered it. I won’t be able to use it because of this. It is far too strong and pungent. Not pleasant at all. "Too soft for a lip balm base" COMMENTS:  I purchased this as I wanted to save some time making lip balms in tubes. I have ordered lip balm bases from several suppliers and they were always suitable for lip balms. This one however, is way too soft for lip balms that are poured into tubes. It does not give a hard balm, and with warmer temperatures these will melt. The ingredients seem fine and I have nothing against them, but the amount of beeswax is way too low for this to be a lip balm. Staff Answer DIRECTIONS: Our melt and pour lip balm base can be melted in a double boiler or microwave (in a Pyrex or microwave safe dish with no covering). Melt for 15-30 second increments in the microwave, stirring thoroughly so that the base is melted in an even manner. When the base is fully melted, use our lip balm Flavor Oils at their normal useage rate. Utilize Pipettes to transfer the melted/scented base into lip balm tubes. It's best to wait until the balm has cooled a bit before pouring. If poured too hot, it can cause inner warping of the lip balm tube as well as causing the lip balm to crack inside the tube as it cools. Once the product has completely cooled, cap tubes, label, and you're finished! 1 lb.of lip balm base (16 oz.) makes approx. 106 tubes of lip balm.   Posted By: WSP Staff   |   Date: December 06, 2021 Was this answer helpful?
