This pastille beeswax comes in the form of yellow beads, as it has been filtered and cleaned. Filtering makes it free from insect body parts and stingers. Note: This wax has a smoky scent from smoking the bees out of their hives to harvest the wax. Commonly used in wax tarts, lotion bars, lip balms and CP Soap.

International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI):Beeswax
Directions:
Lip Products: Melt beeswax in double boiler or small pot on low heat. Once melted, add solid butters. Remove from heat. Add liquid oils and flavor oil. Mix well. Pour into lip tubes, small jars or other lip product packaging. View our Lip Product Recipes for detailed instructions.
Lotion Bars: Melt beeswax in double boiler or pot on low heat. Once melted, add solid butters. Remove from heat. Add liquid oils and fragrance. Mix well. Pour into mold or lotion bar container at an appropriate temperature for mold or packaging. Allow mixture to solidify. View our Lotion Bar Recipes for detailed instructions.
Air Fresheners: Melt equal parts beeswax and palm kernel flakes (102º melt) in a small pot on low heat. Remove from heat. Incorporate fragrance. Pour into mold at an appropriate temperature for the mold. Allow mixture to solidify. Unmold and enjoy. View our Air Freshener Recipes for detailed instructions.
CP Soap: Use at about 1-3% of your oils and calculate with your oils in a lye calculator. Beeswax has a high melt point so raise the temperature of the oils to about 160ºF or 170ºF before mixing it in. It is necessary to soap hotter, around 120ºF, and be prepared for accelerated trace. COMMENTS: This was a first time ordering yellow beeswax. I usually order the white. Upon opening the bag, I did notice a light essence of smoke. I had the man of the house who had kept bees as a youth smell the bag and he said he just smelled honey. I made lotion bars and in the finished product the smell is barely detectable and actually pleasant. Scent is easily covered with fragrance and essential oils.

COMMENTS: I have been making solid lotion bars for several years. When local beeswax isn't available, I use this product from WS Plus. The pastilles are easy to work with. Measuring to an exact amount is easy because the pieces are so small. They melt easily and evenly. No odor, so they don't take away from the essential or fragrance oils added. Makes a nice firm bar that melts easily with body heat.

COMMENTS: Easy to use since there is no cutting to be done, and melts extremely fast. This form of the beeswax has the smokey scent left over from the smoke used on the bees, which might be a little over powering for some, but is perfect for us and the masculine scents we were shooting for.

COMMENTS: The quality of this beeswax is consistently high and its so easy to use. I use it in my HP soaps to help with hardness, to add a natural golden hue, and a light fragrance. COMMENTS: I started making lotion bars in 2014, beeswax is one of the main ingredients in them. I find the pastilles easy to use and to measure out. I have used both the yellow and the white. There is no difference in the quality of the product, but I prefer the yellow because it give the bar a creamier appearance. I definitely recommend this product.

These beeswax pastilles are a very pale yellow, do not have an overpowering smell at all and gave my lotion bars hardness and slip. Great product, I will purchase more in the future!

I don't mind, but I did get some feedback from customers that their lotion bars smelled very much like beeswax. It seems to go away to a certain extent after the outermost layer is used up.

COMMENTS: First usage was for a tinted lip balm. the outcome is good but somehow, in my opinion, the product is quite harder than I want. Anyhow, when applying to my lips, it does work. Can't wait to try on a solid perfume recipe. They take a long time to melt so be very patient and it's important to do exactly step-by-step in the recipe.

No problems using, no strong scent when melted other than a subtle honey scent that paired nicely with all FO/EOs used. Love the Ziploc bag that it now comes in, making it easy to store.

COMMENTS: The scent on this was very pleasant. I made unscented lotion bars with this and they turned out great. I would definitely purchase again. The pastilles melted easily in my double boiler set up and combined well with the shea and mango butters I used.

COMMENTS: I used this to make cold cream and also lip balms. They both came out great. When you smell the pellets straight out of the package it smells nothing like beeswax but once your product is made and hardens there is that distinct beeswax smell, which I LOVE. These pellets make it very easy to weigh out the exact amount you need for your recipe.

COMMENTS: I loved this product for both soap making and in the homemade lotion! It worked really well with my goat milk. The only thing I would caution is that it will super thicken lotion, so don't use quite as much as the recipe calls for.
