COMMENTS: I don't know what I was thinking, buying a fragrance without checking the reviews. It smells great OOTB, and I checked reviews after the fact and saw so many say the fragrance faded. I did my best to prevent this, but it wasn't just fade. I cut after 24 hours and it's gone- not faint, not subtle, GONE. Very disappointing, but I made a rookie mistake after three years of soapmaking so that's on me. This might be great for no-rinse body products or M&P, but is a waste in CP soap.

COMMENTS: Yes, this does come out a little soft but fresh. I added other fragrance oils to give it more life (the dosage for each oil was adjusted a little closer to the parfum spectrum) and it was an excellent turnout! It's definitely something that I'm dying to wear for my graduation ceremony!

COMMENTS: Have used this for years in Melt and Pour and customers love it. It has a very clean - not perfume and not spicy - manly scent. Just tried it in CP and it is Again a winner. It behaved very well. Easy to work patterns and swirls. Used the recommended % and it still smells wonderful - on the light side - but wonderful after 5 weeks.

COMMENTS: Nice and light, with a very slight smoky undertone, it would be good for those who like less heavy fragrance and more subtle notes.
People said it doesn't hold up in cold process soap, which is too bad. Sometimes storing a few cotton balls soaked in the fragrance and tucked into the soap storage will help add some fragrance to the soap.

COMMENTS: OOB, this scent is amazing but I'm realizing it may not be for cold process soap. This is the 2nd time I've made a 5 lb batch of soap using the safe and max usage of this fragrance oil and the scent is GONE after cutting and curing for a week. Maybe I'll do mp soaps and beard oils using this fragrance, but sad and disappointed I have 5 lbs of gorgeous looking soaps without scent.

COMMENTS: I bought a 4 oz bottle to test this out & it was a hit! I’ve only used it in Melt & Pour so far, no discoloration after 3 months. I can’t recall what the vanilla content is, but I had no troubles here. The scent is masculine, appeals to a span of generations. This was preferred over the “Barber Shoppe” fragrance by everyone, though they smell pretty similar. Black Tie is very liked, I do up the percentage a bit as it’s a lighter unoffensive fragrance.

COMMENTS: First of all, no problems with behavior in my soap. I spent a lot of time with swirls with this scent. I had plenty of time.
If you're worried about too much patchouli, don't be. It's a complex scent. I'm not sure which one comes through most.
My favorite man scent so far.

Right out of the bottle , the fragrance screamed “Manly Scent”. The fragrance does smell cologne “ish”, but that’s what I was looking for. COMMENTS: I purchased this FO on the great reviews, I had read..... And I have to agree this is an Awesome masculine scent! It has become quite popular in my men's line of soaps.. It did not accelerate, rice or discolor. I did a simple activated charcoal & white swirl design w/a fork textured top. The scent holds faily well, I used .65 ppo. I may adjust it up a tad. This is definitly a keeper!

COMMENTS: I've recently made two 10-lb batches of HP with this FO, because after my daughter-in-law produced bubble-bath bombs with Black Tie FO and gave away many small ones to the men who work with her husband (to give to their wives in exchange for their comments & reviews), she was inundated with orders for more along with soaps scented with Black-Tie. One of the gentlemen even confessed that he used the BB Bombs himself and was delighted. They're currently also using this FO at work as a men's room air freshener spray. Such a nice, clean and attractive scent!

Everyone who received the soap and candles I made with this trial scent said "Ohoo smells good" (men & women) It blended perfectly in the melt and pour and coconut wax candles. COMMENTS: I used this fragrance in two different cold process recipes. I used it alone in one recipe and blended it with another fragrance oil in another. In both instances it behaved very well. I had no trouble with acceleration, ricing, or seizing. I have not noticed any discoloration, either. The fragrance is masculine but not overpowering, and it blended very well. The fragrance has lasted well and has a good throw. It has been a solid seller for me. I will buy it again when I run out.

COMMENTS: Liked this OOB a lot, unsure as to how it would hold up in cold process soap, so made a small test batch. SOLD OUT IMMEDIATELY, after cure. I personally thought the scent faded some, but customers loved it. Have my 4th recipe on cure rack & half of it is already sold, will be making another batch, but am switching to my 20# mold for this one. I cannot keep it on the shelf. It behaves very well, although I have kept my design pretty simple with just a drop pour of activated black charcoal colored portion into base of white. Perfect, lightly scented mens soap for the guy who prefers a much lighter scent. It is now permanently in my men's section.

COMMENTS: I can not tolerate most fake fragrances. Most of the time I get a headache, sneezing fit, or am just repelled by most of what today now called fragrance (unless it is essential oils or natural origin). So, when I was debating trying this scent, I was unsure if I wanted to take the risk.
I just knew that it was out of my price range to use essential oils in my soaps, so I went for it. WOW. I have to say I did not expect to love this scent. I was fully expecting to be sorry that I ever got it.
So far I have used it in melt and pour goat milk soap base. I used neon green, ultramarine, and charcoal swirl in the soap which made for a gorgeous mannish soap but women like it too. My entire extended family all have VERY different taste, so imagine my shock when EVERYONE has gone after this- male and female. Everyone literally keeps sniffing it over and over. I love this stuff.
I am putting this as a regular in my arsenal. Just be sure to use the proper amount as per instructions- too little makes it too weak.

COMMENTS: I ordered this fragrance based on the very positive 5 star reviews. I have to say that it was a bit of a disappointment for me in my CPOP soap batch at a usage of .8. It definitely has the pepper that I expected by I don't smell the leather. It did soap very nicely and behaved very well. The good news is that a customer came to my home and wanted to buy one before it was fully cured. So perhaps I have misjudged this and will have to wait for customer feedback.

COMMENTS: I subversively had my dad smell this in a gift he thought I was making for someone else but was really making for him to make sure he fancied the scent (I don't have a sense of smell, so this often is a great excuse!). He gushed about the scent and when I asked if it would be appropriate as a gift for a male, he said it would make a great unisex scent. When I gifted it to him he was very happy -- and so was his wife after smelling it! I had them smell all of the scents I ordered from WSSP and they said this was their favorite. COMMENTS: I love, love, loved the Black Tie FO in the bottle, but put in my M&P soap was great! I will order it again in a larger quantity. I think every woman will get this for their man. I want to use this in a whole line of men's products.
I added 2 oz. of the Black Tie FO to 4 pounds of Ultra White M&P base. I did not add any color. The FO turned it a very mild creamy white. I'm OK with that.
I don't rate many things, but this is so exceptional I wanted to let everyone know how great it smells.

COMMENTS: A great manly scent. I just made my husband some deodorant with this FO and he LOVES it, and so do I. The black peppercorn note is so warm, spicy and sexy. I also like that it has a cologne tone to it without being overpowering. It also has a nice smokey scent. I don't think my husband will ever use another scent again, and I'm more than okay with that!
