Our American Citrus Melt and Pour Soap Base is a detergent free base. This transparent soap base has an orange hue, smells lightly of sweet blood orange and tangerine, and has a creamy bubble lather. The two-pound tray is the perfect size container for projects making (8) 4 oz. bars of soap. The lid allows for unused soap to easily be stored for future use.

Directions:
MELT: Determine amount of melt and pour soap base needed for your project. Carefully slice soap base into small pieces and place in microwave safe container. Heat on low at 30 second intervals. Stir between intervals until liquid. Handle hot soap carefully as it may burn the skin. Soap can also be melted in a double boiler.
MOLD: Stir in cosmetic color, cosmetic scent, and skin safe additives. Pour into a Crafter's Choice or Milky Way soap mold. Spritz soap surface with rubbing alcohol to remove bubbles. Allow to cool until hard.
ENJOY: Remove from mold and wrap with airtight plastic wrap. Your newly created melt and pour soap is now ready to use!
CAUTION: Melted soap is hot! For ages 15 and older.

COMMENTS: I use this to make interesting and cool embeds for my soaps. It smells super nice, you don't have to add fragrance if you don't want to. I added a smidge of warm honey to it... then added it to my hot process soap with honey and oats. Melted this and poured from about 8" up into the hot process soap making a really cool looking "honey" swirl that was translucent in my soap. Really nice outcome, everyone loved it. Did not separate from the homemade portion of soap. Looked great.

COMMENTS: This is a lovely soap base. Has a light citrus scent and feels good on the skin. Ive also mixed it in with other bases and it really works well and is so easy. It does sweat just a bit and i havent really worked that out yet but it also hasn't really been an issue as its very minimal in my opinion. Im purchasing again!

COMMENTS: I used this base to make a lemon melt and pour bar with a swirl, used freshly squeezed lemon scent and some yellow mica - this base made a nice soap, it stayed liquid for a long time with regular stirring and was easy to swirl.
Love the feel of these bars

COMMENTS: Very impressive base. I love that theres no detergent and yet its still so soapy. Great for sensitive skin,cat,dog,kids,babies and those that dont want detergents. Mixes well with everything I added. I have so many ideas of what more to create with this base. Great for kitchen bathroom soaps. Citrusy fresh and uplifting. I would recommend this base. COMMENTS: I love this stuff. The scent is a great bright citrus. The color's a soft yellow but I added a blue mica and an orange mica and the colors were amazing with it. The little citrus hit in the soap went amazingly with some other citrus-based scents I had, giving it that extra bright kick. Made a bar for my dad and was told it was "invigorating". It is a little soft, compared to other MP I use, but I just let it sit a little longer before unmolding.

COMMENTS: My favorite thing about the soap is that it is detergent free. The scent is great. On its own it has a light citrusy scent. I added a few drops of Litsea Cubeba essential oil and he result was fantastic; very fragrant but still not overwhelming. I like the orange color yet is still clear enough to see thru. It sets up to a nice hard soap, much less glycerin dew than other M&P soaps.

"Lots of sweating/glycerine dew..." |

COMMENTS: I was really excited to try this base as it would allow my customers to get the actual bar in their hand to look at, feel, and smell instead of it needing to be in plastic wrap. Unfortunately, after 2 days tremendous amounts of glycerine dew took hold, and after 10 days is still there. I tried to wipe it off, but the slime just came right back. The soap is in a cool, dry area with good air circulation so am really sad that this has happened. Will just wrap immediately after making my next bars and hope that will help. On the up-side, it melted down very nicely, has a nice faint citrus smell and faint orange color which should take any citrus soap you make up a notch. Just too bad about the dew/sweating.

COMMENTS: This soap has a great lather, and just a hint of citrus to it. The color is gorgeous. Tried to add some orange and lemon shavings to it but they did sink to the bottom, I wonder if I poured them in too early or maybe this isn't the best for suspending additives? I will try again though, I think this one is def worth it.
