Our Baby Buttermilk Melt and Pour Soap Base is a detergent free base that is white in color. It contains buttermilk, oatmeal, calendula extract, and real natural honey for exemplary moisturizing benefits. The 23 pound big block is ideal for larger projects, as it will make (92) 4 oz. bars of soap. Soap comes in a blue bag with twist tie and corrugate box. A single block measures 13 x 11.5 x 6 inches.

Directions:
MELT: Determine amount of melt and pour soap base needed for your project. Carefully slice soap base into small pieces and place in microwave safe container. Heat on low at 30 second intervals. Stir between intervals until liquid. Handle hot soap carefully as it may burn the skin. Soap can also be melted in a double boiler.
MOLD: Stir in cosmetic color, cosmetic scent, and skin safe additives. Pour into a Crafter's Choice mold. Spritz soap surface with rubbing alcohol to remove bubbles. Allow to cool until hard.
ENJOY: Remove from mold and wrap with airtight plastic wrap. Your newly created melt and pour soap is now ready to use!
CAUTION: Melted soap is hot! For ages 15 and older.

COMMENTS: This is a very harsh soap. It is great for cleaning counters and floors but I would not recommend using on the body. When oils are added, there is no lather and continues to be extremely harsh. It’s a dud.

COMMENTS: I read the reviews and saw mostly positive reviews so I thought I'd try it. But the moment I opened the plastic wrapping to expose the soap, I noticed an odor right away and after my soap was made as well. I felt like I had to add more scent just to mask the odor. So I'm not sure what people mean when they say it smells great even without adding scent or it has low odor.
I usually buy the goat milk base and it hardens nicely and has no odor. I do like the way the Buttermilk soap lathers and feels on the skin though. So I'm hoping the odor will fade away and my customers won't notice it. This soap also takes a long time to harden. I really hope I didn't buy 24 lbs of soap that I won't use. My fault for buying such a big batch, but I was really hoping the reviews were right.

COMMENTS: Love the soap I wish it was completely natural without the propylene glycol. It is the perfect base for all the natural ingredients I use but I do really wish you guys could eave out the propylene glycol! Is this what it stops it from sweating?

COMMENTS: This melt and pour soap smells so good right out of the box. Produces large lather, big bubbles. There is so much goodness in here, I only wish, they could leave out the propylene glycol. I am not a fan of this ingredient. It's not truly a "natural" bar of soap, but my customers don't seem to mind.

COMMENTS: I have switched solely to ordering this soap ! The most creamy lather and non drying! Totally in love with this soap! I have customers that say they won't use anything but my soap and it's this m&p buttermilk without detergent.

COMMENTS: I'm so glad I finally got a big block of base. I am in love with the DF Baby Buttermilk, as are my customers and my husband. The block is nice to cut from and the base itself is so easy to work with...it doesn't over heat and it doesn't cool too quickly. Love it!

COMMENTS: This soap base takes both color and scent very well. It leaves your skin feeling clean, refreshed, and above all SILKY !! I use this to shampoo my hair as well...it is very gentle on my hair and my hair is always shiny...as well as never having that "dry" feel, and I never use conditioner either. Use Exotic Coconut F/O, and Coconut Milk Powder and you will feel like you are on a Tropical spa vacation !!!

COMMENTS: This is the perfect soap base for little ones and those with sensitive skin. Have used in several kids soaps and I can't keep up with the orders. It is softer so you should definitely let it sit for a few days before packaging but other than that its great. I haven't yet added any fragrance to it but am considering getting a baby powder fo which would compliment it nicely.

COMMENTS: This is a super creamy soap that lathers well and takes additives well. It is a "soft" base and I have to allow my soap to sit longer until it hardens better. If you are an impatient MP soaper I would recommend making your batches at night and unmold in the morning relieving the temptation of unmolding too soon. It's such a gentle, cleansing soap base.

COMMENTS: Previously purchased a 2 pound tray to try this base out. Made baby soap for a great nephew who has sensitive skin. Added no fragrance, just a pale yellow coloring. The baby's mother loved it and has requested more. Said this is the first soap that did not give her infant a rash. Another relative with sensitive skin has also requested that soap as a result. Have purchased the 24lb block of this great base to fill requests and save money.

COMMENTS: This is a great soap base and I highly recommend it. This soap base has a wonderful, bright, white color! It works great in the Sugar Scrubs that we make and my customers really like them. I also make soap bars with nothing added (no color/no scent) and are still good sellers as well. I use this soap base and it does not dry out my skin at all. Don't change the ingredients -- ever! Thank you!

COMMENTS: Tried this for the first time and was pleasantly surprised with the results, considering it is the cheapest of the M&P product line. It does make a firm, dry bar comparable to CP, has a lot of lather, and leaves the skin silky smooth. I'll be using this again, along with the goats milk type also.

COMMENTS: This is the base of my "signature"soap.It has never been sweaty,&very gentle.Maybe not the most moistureing of the white soaps but I have had alot of luck with adding oils.I think it also last a bit longer than most m&p soaps.

COMMENTS: this is a skin friendly, gentle, superior formula that produces lovely soap and has ingredients I can brag about on my labels like buttermilk, oats and honey. It's soy free, reasonably low sweat, melts well. molds up nicely. the price point is good so I can make some money too. Although I'm still making some soaps from scratch, this is an easier method. chopping it is tiring and time consuming, like all m&P.

COMMENTS: When I get customers who say they have sensitive skin or skin problems, I try to start them out with the Baby Buttermilk soap. They usually respond very well to this soap. It is a little more difficult to work with due to its content but it is well worth the effort. I always try to have this soap available. I have tried it myself and really like what it does for my skin. This is one of my standard bases that I use. Love the detergent free part.
