Our Clear Glycerin Melt and Pour Soap Base is a low sweat & detergent free base. This soap has a creamy lather with 100% of the lather coming from the saponification of natural oils. It has a clarity score of 8.5 out of 10. The 23 pound big block is ideal for larger projects, as it will make (92) 4 oz. bars of soap. Soap comes in a blue bag with twist tie and corrugate box. A single block measures 13 x 11.5 x 6 inches.

Directions:
MELT: Determine amount of melt and pour soap base needed for your project. Carefully slice soap base into small pieces and place in microwave safe container. Heat on low at 30 second intervals. Stir between intervals until liquid. Handle hot soap carefully as it may burn the skin. Soap can also be melted in a double boiler.
MOLD: Stir in cosmetic color, cosmetic scent, and skin safe additives. Pour into a Crafter's Choice mold. Spritz soap surface with rubbing alcohol to remove bubbles. Allow to cool until hard.
ENJOY: Remove from mold and wrap with airtight plastic wrap. Your newly created melt and pour soap is now ready to use!
CAUTION: Melted soap is hot! For ages 15 and older.

COMMENTS: I use this base in my M&P swirl soaps. It is amazing! I have used others in the past, while they were good, this is better. My daughter has very sensitive skin, and she uses the soaps I make with this, no problems. It helps with lather too.

COMMENTS: This is the only clear MP soap base I'll use, it allows vibrant colors to be used, doesn't dull the colors down like using a white base, and being detergent free is a huge selling point. If you haven't tried this yet, you should. You won't be disappointed.

COMMENTS: Out of all the bases we use for our melt and pour soaps, this is the one I like the best for finished product. It provides more lather than the others. We have even mixed this base with the others to increase the lather of the bar soaps. The only issue with any of the soap bases is the blue bag that they are poured into. Often times some of the blue plastic bag becomes stuck in the soap and is not detected until after a bar of soap is made and the bar becomes ruined.

COMMENTS: This detergent free formula was very easy to work with - it stayed liquid for a long time at a low temperature so it was very convenient to add color, scent, and pour into multiple molds. It came out of the molds easily and makes a nice creamy later with a few big bubbles too. It is a little soft, but nothing to worry about and I have had a bar out on my work table for a week with no sweating at all (two days it was very humid and raining out) - so that's fantastic!

COMMENTS: I both the big 40lb slabs in both clear and white. I love the detergent free base they provide. I've found that it doesn't produce glycerin rivers as quickly as some other brands I've used. It worked very well for my latest soaping project. The only thing to be aware of in buying the larger slabs is that it comes in one big block. You'll have to cut away at what you need. I accidentally cut into the blue bag that it comes packaged in when trying to get the amount I needed.

It's good enough that I'm buying more, but I should note that I mix it with another, harder base for results that suit me better. It's fairly easy to manage in the huge block size. Bits of the bag are sometimes caught in the soap, but they pull out easily.

COMMENTS: This base accepts fragrance and color well (the slight amber tint doesn't affect the mica colors I use), it is nice and hard, it doesn't sweat hardly at all, it lathers quite nicely (even in our hard water), it rinses clean and it lasts quite a long time in the shower. "Another MUST HAVE in my Soaping Studio" |

COMMENTS: I love this Detergent Free Soap Base. I have not found a better one yet out there anywhere, so I'm pretty loyal to it. I use it for all my embeds, I don't actually make bars with it, just embeds - and it works fabulously. I never have had any issues with it. When I lived in Florida, we had high humidity. All I did, I made my embeds, then placed them on racks and let them dry with a fan blowing on them overnight. It is low sweat to begin with, but this ensured no "dew" and made them nice and super rock hard. Here in Colorado, well, I don't know...we will see what happens. It's pretty dry here compared to Florida, so I'm hoping I don't see a lot of shrinking or cracking, I will probably avoid using the fan treatment, but I'm looking forward to working with this MP base again for sure.

COMMENTS: I've been using this soap for more than a year. It holds fragrances will. It molds well with minimal sweating during drying. My customers love the creamy lather and the fact that it does not dry the skin. When making soap for my children I use dried chamomile and calendula and it works lovely on their skin. COMMENTS: This base is really easy to work with and performs well. The only thing I was disappointed in was that I didn't experience the "low sweat" I was hoping for. My bars still experienced glycerin dew. I let them sit out to "cure" for several days and eventually had to wipe off the dew with rubbing alcohol and wrap like normal. Other than that this is a great base and I will continue using it.

COMMENTS: This stuff is a breeze to work with. Easy to cut chunks off the block and melts super fast. I've been able to attain a great range of colors so far and the fragrances always shine. One word of caution though, this soap will melt quickly in even moderate heat if the sun is hitting it as I found out at a TX open air market today. It wasn't terribly hot (79 degrees when I noticed the melting) and my goatsmilk bars weren't phased in the least by the heat, so be warned to keep this soap at room temperature or below at all times.

COMMENTS: When I first started to use this soap, my concern was that it would not be as clear as I had hoped, but once cut up and melted down, it is quite clear enough for almost all of my pet soap designs. I'm glad for this, because I prefer the detergent free soap line over all others. It offers plenty of lather to satisfy customers despite the absence of commonly used detergents. I frequently combine this formula with detergent free goat milk formula in my designs, because the clear lathers better than the goat milk formula, and the different opacities are striking. This formula accepts color beautifully whether it is powdered mica, solid bar or stained-glass colors. I also use this in making my activated charcoal soaps. It makes for a less drying soap than traditional charcoal soap.

COMMENTS: Very satisfied with this product. No sweating! And I live in Florida! Lathers very well. Customers love love love the detergent free option I am now able to offer them because of this product. No yellowing, no odor, holds scent incredibly well. My favorite go to base for melt and pour soaps. Colors stay vibrant and not muted the way some other bases do. Unmolds very easily without having to place in fridge. Incredible product. Love the ease of packaging in 24 lb size. Well definitely be purchasing more of this base. Just wonderful.

COMMENTS: The big block is much more economical than the 2-lb boxes, and that's enough for me. The plastic bag was embedded in the soap a little bit but it was easy to extract. I just sliced this up and put it into a bag inside a 5-gallon bucket and have it stored in my work area, it's simple to just reach in and grab a slice to get to work.

COMMENTS: This is the only clear I use and love it. Melts easily and I have no issues blending micas, scents or whatever else I may want to add. Decided to buy the block to get more for my money. Glad I did. Packaged within bag in a box makes much more sense than having a whole bunch of 2 lb plastic containers around. Not to mention the waste. Though I do recycle them. From now on only way I will buy my soap is by the block.

COMMENTS: I like this MP. I do find it drying when used on its own but since I mostly use it for embeds in CP you don't even notice. I guess I'm just spoiled from my moisture-rich CP bars. I also like the fact that it hardly sweats. Just out of the mold it is a bit sticky/slimy but a few days on the drying rack and that feeling completely disappears. The huge 24lb block isn't all that hard to cut either...just get a long, sharp knife and cut into smaller, more manageable chunks and tadaa, problem solved. Would definitely repurchase.

COMMENTS: I love this detergent free soap base it works great in melt and pour soaps. It doesn't harden too fast. It is a little cloudy but if you are adding color that doesn't matter. I have noticed it does sweat a little more than other bases I have tried but if you wrap them quickly in plastic wrap after they are hard it seems to help that issue a little. I will def. be purchasing this base again. And my customers love that it is detergent free.

COMMENTS: I love being able to offer SLS-free soap to my customers. Because the detergent-free soap bases take longer to harden, I find they're much easier to work with when detailing small areas in a mold -- I don't have to constantly re-melt the soap or clean the injector tool of hardened soap. While this base has more of a yellowish tint than the Extra Clear, I haven't found it to be a problem in the finished product. I do find, however, that I have to use more colorant to achieve the same effect than I did with the Extra Clear soap base -- a small price to pay in exchange for all the benefits!

COMMENTS: Love this soap base. It performs Excellent in the high humidity and high temps of Houston! I have Extremely humid weather almost year round and this soap base has not let me down. No Sweating even when unwrapped! I highly recommend this for very humid areas. Finished product does preform much like a Cold Processed soap and has a nice creamy lather too.

COMMENTS: This is such a good soap base and it takes scent well.
Has a good melting point does not skim up fast and has a wonderful lather. I bought this soap base because I was another MP from different company and was having trouble with my soaps sweating. I'm very happy with this one.
