Horsetail Butter Blend has real horsetail plant extract which is a popular ingredient in facial care and lotion. This all natural butter is a soft, green butter that is commonly used in skincare for dry skin. Can also be used in hair care!
Common Uses:
Cold & Hot Process Soap. Lotions. Lip Products.

Contains Horsetail Extract, believed to contain the building blocks needed for collagen and elastin synthesis in the skin. Also thought to help rebuild and regenerate damaged skin cells. Contains Sweet Almond Oil, a natural moisturizer that is thought to relieve (among other things) itching. All Natural.

Directions:
DIRECTIONS: Slowly stir melted product into the oil portion of your formulation. Common use levels are lip products 5-100%, cold process soap 3-6%, lotions and creams 3-5%. Can be applied directly to the skin. TIPS: The average melting point for the butter is 91°F. Butters provide moisturizing properties to products. To minimize greasy after feel we recommend blending with 1-3% cornstarch or isopropyl myristate. Test your final product to insure optimal performance. STORAGE: Store in an airtight, cool, dark location. When stored properly, best used within 1 year from date of purchase. CAUTION: For external use only. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

"Creamy addition to body butter recipe" |

COMMENTS: Love that it is supposed to assist aging skin. I used the Horsetail butter blend today in a shea/mango/kokum butter at a rate of 1:4. I also added tapioca starch, apricot kernel oil, and FO. I tempered the harder butters and added the Horsetail blend after tempering was finished. Blending worked like a dream and everything incorporated well. The end result was a tad too oily for my liking, although the butter does absorb quickly, so I either will increase the tapioca starch - I kept that on the light side for this first attempt with the butter blend - or use Slick Fix next time. Overall, I am extremely happy with the product. It has no strong odor and it is smooth and creamy with no graininess to it at all.

COMMENTS: I love with this product. The scent is very light, like the herb itself. It is a good price for the amount I received. Well packaged and easy to use straight from the jar. I have a German Shepherd puppy who already looks like and has the strength of an adult dog. I am sometimes Wiley E Coyote to her Roadrunner. I find that it seems to help with the inflammation from some of our more adventurous walks. I am going to try it in soap or shampoo bars, to see if the benefits transfer well. It does feel a little greasy when I apply it, but absorbs well into my skin without leaving a greasy residue. I will continue ordering it.

COMMENTS: I had never heard of this butter before I started using this site but I thought that its property seemed interesting so I started using it in my lotions and I love the way that it made the consistency of my lotion. COMMENTS: I learned to stay away from Shea or Mango butter when making lip balms, since they have the tendency to cauliflower up on you when ur not using the lip balm, unless you "temper" the batch properly (by keeping the batch in a liquid state for an extended amount of time, 20 mins should be good), but swapping out my Mango Butter and using the Horsetail Butter, instead, despite its color, imparts a heavenly, dreamy quality to my lip balms! I'm loving this one! It can't be beat! The answer to a superior lip balm and it makes wonderful salves and Lotion, as well!

Horsetail is said to be good for hair and scalp, and to help with skin cell regeneration, so im using the light, fluffly cream i made with this, with added essential oils for cell regeneration, on my scalp, hoping to help with hair loss from a chemo drug. Whether it works or not to help my hair grow back- it is a lovely cream either way.
