The paisley "twisted teardrop" design originated in Iran and India but got its popular name from the town in Scotland when they started reproducing the design based on cashmere shawls brought back by soldiers serving in the colonies. The Beatles brought it to the states in the 1960s and it caught on with the psychedelic crowd. The Paisley Soap Mold Tray makes six groovy soaps.

Directions:
Melt & Pour Soap: Pour melted soap at a temperature no hotter than 135ºF into mold. Cool until soap has hardened. Remove soap from mold, and slice into bars. For easier unmolding, place into freezer for 30 minutes, and then immerse bottom of the mold in hot water for a few moments. Do not use cooking spray to coat mold.
Cold Process Soap: Coat the mold with cooking spray. Pour soap at trace into mold. After 24 hours, flip mold over onto a clean surface. Gently push the back of the mold until the soap begins to release then pull the soap out of the mold with a gloved hand. Slice into bars. Allow soap to cure for 4-8 weeks. Note that some cp soap recipes may require a week to harden enough to remove from the mold. If this is the case with your recipe, we recommend adding sodium lactate to your recipe to assist with creating a harder bar faster.
Lotion Bars: Pour melted lotion bar mixture into mold at a temperature no hotter than 135ºF. Allow mixture to solidify. Flip mold over onto clean surface. Gently push back of mold until lotion bar begins to release then pull bar out of mold. Slice into lotion bars.
Care:
Wash in warm, sudsy water. Please avoid the dishwasher because that can warp your molds or make them brittle.

"Beautiful design" |
COMMENTS: Very unique design and it works great with layering. I like to use contrasting colors or a nice ombré effect. I like the way the design flows from one bar to the next. It is challenging to remove the soap from the mold unless you freeze it for a half hour then run it under hot water to release.

"OMG Everyone loves this mold! " |
COMMENTS: I normally use loaf and slab molds. Because I am a paisley fan I decided to give this a try. OMG I am in love! Nice size bars, imprint is devine! And so many ways you can do this bar, solid, or highlight the paisley! Just love, going to get more so I am never without! Soap pops right out, no freezing or prying or praying!

"This mold is perfect!" |
COMMENTS: I really liked the look of this mold but wasn't sure at first about the intricate design. No worries, though; it unmolded beautifully with every detail intact. I love it! The size of the bars is ideal, too: nice, big bars and just right to fit in your hand comfortably. I only wish I'd bought a few more of these molds when I bought this one, because it's now one of my first choices in soapmaking. I hope Milky Way makes several more designs in this style.
