"Not quite the red I expected" |
COMMENTS: I used this in 8oz soy candles. I was expecting it to be lighter than the swatch on the product listing online, as soy doesn't take dye particularly well, but what I wasn't expecting was for it to be VERY orange-- much more orange than red at a glance. I tried adding a couple more drops to see if deepening the color would bring the red out more (I didn't want to add too much above the recommended ratio in case of clogging the wick or otherwise affecting the burn), but in the end I am left with several decidedly orange candles. It's a very lovely orange, even desaturated a bit by the soy wax, but it definitely can't pass for red. However if this is due to user error, I'm happy to try it again!
