COMMENTS: I was so excited when I saw this fragrance oil, and read the rave reviews for it. I just received my Sandalwood Patchouli Fragrance oil 810 today and couldn’t wait to open the box and smell what I thought would be a delightful combination. I have a very good sense of smell and can smell neither Sandalwood or Patchouli in this fragrance oil. I’m so disappointed. :-(

COMMENTS: As soon as I opened this FO, I immediately needed to make a batch. I like Sandalwood, but Patchouli, not so much. This combination is really nice! Kind of a sweet fragrance with a spicy note. Nothing over-powering. CP is two weeks into the cure, and still smells like fresh poured. It does discolor, my bars are at a dark tan right now, but it fits the scent. Otherwise, no ricing or acceleration with this fragrance. This would make a really nice wax melt or candle. I plan on keeping this FO as a regular.

COMMENTS: This has been one of my favorites out of all the fragrances I have sampled from various companies. It honestly doesn't smell quite like either patchouli or sandalwood, distinctly, to me, but rather it smells like a very smooth, unisex and sensual musk. Mildly earthy and mildly woody, so true to its name, but that character is very subtle. The scent itself is softer in nature, but it has very impressive staying power for the price. This is a rare combination in my experience. Usually soft scents fade quickly when applied to the skin in a mixture of wax, butter and/or carrier oil, while a stronger scent might last longer, but also be extremely well, strong and possibly even too sharp or abrasive from the outset. I am also used to the solid perfumes/colognes I make only lasting about 1-2 hours (at most) on my skin type, whereas this fragrance diluted in wax and butter, is still on my skin over 10 hours later! I will definitely be using this as a base for more blends going forward.

COMMENTS: I love patchouli, and everyone who has tried my patchouli beer soap has loved it. I thought I'd try this to branch out a little. I loved it out of bottle, but something odd happened once I soaped with it. I'm hoping it just needs to cure a bit. It behaved well. As others noted it discolors, but with me it turned a bright old school Dial gold! I rarely color my soaps because I love how different oil combinations produce different results, but this is the first time I've ever seen such a bright gold. I know my recipe is OK. If the smell grows on me I'll be thrilled.

COMMENTS: I typically don't like sandalwood or patchouli but at my most recent show I had so many requests for both scents. I didn't think I could handle making just straight patchouli (it gives me a headache) so I chose the mix of the 2. I have to say I really like this scent. I can get a slight hint of both scents individually, and the mix of the two together makes a very warm, deep, earthy, sexy scent. To me it smells more masculine, but I could very easily see it be for women as well. I think this will sell very well!

COMMENTS: I have been on a mission to find a particular scent for a friend. This was it. We both loved the blending of the patchouli and sandalwood....not too much, just right with that earthiness to it. I do like this for a unisex scent and will be using it more in future products.

COMMENTS: I used this to make hp soap and it did really well. It discoloured slightly,but became a really nice color. My husband loves this fragrant. I will be ordering a larger bottle.

COMMENTS: I get many positive responses from customers on this fragrance (if they like patchouli!). It did turn the soap brown, but I expected that from the 5% vanilla and worked it into the design of the soap.
| CC Response: | Great idea! If you'd like to keep it from discoloring, try our Crafter's Choice Vanilla Color Stabilizer (it is available for CP Soap, MP Soap and Lotions/Washes as well). The stabilizer prevents the vanilla in fragrance oils from turning soap formulations brown. It will not prevent color changes due to ingredients other than vanilla. It works really well - we use it often. |

COMMENTS: I just got this scent with my last order and I love it! I typically gravitate towards the fruity and sweet scents, but this scent is my absolute favorite. It was very easy to work with. I did not have any acceleration and did not lose any tones with aging. I will be adding this to my staple scents.

COMMENTS: I was a little hesitant to purchase this fragrance because of the name, but after reading the other reviews I purchased a small bottle and decided to give it a try. Boy was I ever pleased. COMMENTS: I am a stone cold lover of both sandalwood and patchouli although they are quite often deemed as manly scents. I love this blend because it is the perfect unisex blend. COMMENTS: I like this FO a lot. It doesn't accelerate trace so I can use this with plenty of bright colors or swirls. It has a nice patchouli smell with the hint of sandalwood to warm the overall fragrance. It is a favorite for my customers. Very soothing.
