This lotion contains Shea Butter, Aloe, Silk Amino Acids, Sunflower & Coconut Oils. Shea and Aloe are well known in helping moisturize and repair skin damage. Sunflower Oil which is rich in Vitamin E, a natural anti-oxidant. Silk Amino Acids provide a protective barrier and silky note to the lotion. Coconut oil contains the natural antioxidant, vitamin E. It does not clog pores and has been shown to protect, hydrate and nourish the skin. This lotion does not contain mineral oil. Paraben-free base.

Lotion. Body Moisturizer. This is a ready to use base. It can be used “as is” or it can have color and fragrance incorporated prior to packaging.

Maximum Temp Note: If a base is heated over “Maximum Heating Temperature” for greater than 5 minutes the current preservative system can be rendered inactive and additional preservative is required to prevent the growth of mold, bacteria and fungus. If more than 5% additives are incorporated into the base, the current preservative system will be diluted and additional preservative will be required.
Maximum Fragrance Note: Some fragrance and essential oils may thin or thicken this base. You will want to conduct performance testing to ensure your final product performs as you desire.

Directions:
On low heat, warm base to 120º F. Add cosmetic grade fragrance and FDA approved color additive. Scoop or pipe into container. Allow to return to room temperature and apply top. Label per FDA label requirements.
Note: Amount of fragrance cannot exceed IFRA guidelines (listed for each fragrance on this website) and should not exceed this products “Maximum Fragrance Load” of 4%. If your lotion does not remain white when you rub it into your skin then you have used too much color. If product significantly thins you have used too much fragrance.

"Great Lotion Base to Scent" |

COMMENTS: This is a great base. It is very thick and holds scent very well. It does have a slight chemical scent before blending but it is easily covered once you add your fragrance oil. This is definitely more of an actual body cream consistency rather than lotion consistency so that is something to keep in mind. It keeps skin moisturized and lightly scented all day, which is amazing. Will definitely keep this product in my line.

COMMENTS: This lotion feels very nice and smooth but I don't like the base smell. It is not a neutral smell. It does take a little more fragrance oil to cover the smell up. I will go back to the goat milk and honey lotion.

COMMENTS: This is fabulous on the skin. Holds the fragrance perfectly! Now I did add a little purple mica to it but that was before I read the warning of not adding color due to coloring skin. Luckily the little bit of purple mica doesn't do that to my lotion.

COMMENTS: This lotion is true to its name! It's smooth just like silk. Opening the bucket was a hassle to open, but it's well worth it once you get it open. So far I just added cranberry fragrance to it. I didn't heat it up or do anything fancy, I just scooped some out of the bucket and added the fragrance oil. It came out perfect, and held the fragrance very well. It makes your skin feel moisturized(not greasy), smooth and satin silky. I definitely will putchase more, especially when it's on sale again.

"BUCKET EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO OPEN" |

COMMENTS: First, the bucket the cream comes in is extremely difficult to open. I almost injured my hand trying to open it. My husband was struggling to open it. Finally, he did but not before he almost injured himself as well. What is going on? Forget it if you suffer from arthritis. For this reason, I will not be purchasing this cream again. The instructions seems to suggest on the bucket to use a screwdriver. It is faint, so I could be wrong. But seriously, it was a struggle to open it. Almost hurt myself with the screwdriver which I had to stop using. The cream is nice and not greasy, but it does have a faint odor like (Manteca, the kind you buy in supermarkets that our parents used long ago) or an oily type oil odor. It’s tolerable however, the odor stays on your skin. Best to add a scent. For someone sensitive to odors this may not be a good choice. I’m disappointed in this because of the odor a d the difficult bucket lid. Not a product I would buy. Shame too, because the cream feels nice but the bucket and the odor has to go. Waste of money for me. Cant sell this if I don’t like it myself.

COMMENTS: Just purchased this product and made some sample bottles to get feedback from friends, aka potential buyers. This lotion did not disappoint! It was luxurious out of the gallon tub and with just a little tweaking (tapioca starch, fragrance and manuka honey extract) I had a signature lotion. I was a little nervous warming it up since I am new to this but it reacted well to heat, blended the wet and powder ingredients well and thickened back up once cool in bottles. This is thick enough for jars. Overall a great lotion with a high end feel.

COMMENTS: This base is my best seller. It is super thick but absorbs quickly. It feels really good and hydrating on the skin. It holds fragrance and color very well. This lotion is so thick it doesn't melt easily so do it in short bursts or it will separate. Also, you can't pump it effectively. Works best in jars, but tottle squeeze bottles work fairly well.

COMMENTS: i really love the way this lotion feels and it's thick texture. My only issue is that it is not moisturizing my skin. I used it after a shower and a few minutes later my skin looked like i did not put anything on it. i do tend to be a little on the dry side but i was not expecting this result. I do not think this will work well for customers with dry skin. I think i will try another base and hopefully it will work better for dry skin. This could be used for "normal" skin.. I will say this base accepts fragrance very well. i used sunflower FO, smells great.

COMMENTS: I just received it today , and was so excited. It was well worth it. It is exactly what i have been looking for. It hold scent well. It is creamy and bot waxy or oily at all. I did add steric acid and emulsifying wax to it to thicken it up just a little. The finished product was absolutely wonderful. I am truly amazed by this product. COMMENTS: I make cold process soap and wanted to add lotions with matching scents to my product line. After much research and deliberation I chose the Satin & Silk because I liked the oils that are used in making it. I am so glad I picked this base!! I love how my hands feel after using it and all of my product testers love it too!! It leaves a soft silky feel once it is absorbed into the skin. It may seem kind of thick at 1st but give it a few minutes and you will love the feel of it too!

COMMENTS: Straight out of the bucket, I thought the base felt a little waxy. I tried a 4 oz batch with the recommended 4% fragrance oil and a smidgen of mica for light color and loved it. I would say to be careful of overheating, this base softened at 20 seconds in my microwave and took the fragrance and mica very well. If you overheat, it will turn to liquid and as it cools, it appears like cottage cheese that you have to whip out with a whisk. Do not overheat, it just needs slight warming, if any at all.

COMMENTS: This base is a winner...my mom is super picky about lotion and this base passed the mom test. :) It is smooth, silky, absorbent...all around awesome. It takes fragrance like a champ and is very easy to work with. It is thick so getting it into bottles is interesting. It pours easily while warm but it cools quickly and then gets a bit thick to get through a funnel easily. So, work fast and have patience...because this base is worth it!!!

COMMENTS: I have been learning to formulate my own body butters, mostly for application of essential oils. When i first set.out on this journey i was shocked to learn just how difficult it is to make an actual lotion (water based, not a body butter). And, sometimes in a.pinch i dont have any body butter made, and especially in the summer heat, applying straight carrier oils isnt so pleasant. So, i have been searching for a.good quality, affordable, UNscented lotion, that doesnt have a whole lot of harsh ingredients (not that it had to be 100% natural, because, as i said, i wanted a nice-feeling, quality lotion, and 100% natural usually isnt very nice feeling). I have FINALLY found twhat ive been looking for! The Satin & Silk Lotion has everything i was looking for. it feels great on my skin. It soaks in very quickly, leaves my skin smooth and soft, and it is so easy to mix in whatever essential oil blend i happen to feel the need for at any given time.

COMMENTS: I tried for along time to make my own lotion base. And it's hard! It would either turn into a soap base, foam or too oily. So I gave up and thought I would try this out for size. COMMENTS: I am loving this one. I tried Satin & Silk out after the Silky Body Butter was too waxy for my liking. I don't get the waxy effect from this one at all. It rubs in easily and keeps you moisturized. Plus, it holds fragrance really well! Satin & Silk doesn't "look" as whipped as the Silky Body Butter when whipped but it's just as thick and packages well in jars. I'll be back for more!

COMMENTS: This lotion is wonderfully thick and very creamy. I am amazed at how much oil this lotion can receive and still hold it thick creamy texture and performance. My husband has never been a lotion fan. I made him a small batch of lotion using our new scent Barber Shoppe and he really liked it. This lotion absorbs nicely in a minute or so and doesn’t leave a greasy feel, I even use it on my face and have had no issues. Normally, if my skin is going to react it does so almost immediately. I am so pleased I took a chance and bought a gallon. I sure do hope you keep this lotion around and the price.

COMMENTS: Oh my, where to start. This is THE most wonderful moisturizing cream I have ever tried! I don't think I will bother to learn how to make my own now that I have this one. They may call it a lotion, but it is a nice soft cream consistency, and holds up VERY well to just about anything you add to it (and I addded a lot of things). EO's stay nicely incorporated, and this has no odor to it, so your fragrances smell very true. Your skin will drink it in, and there is NO greasy feel after, just soft skin. Everyone at work loved it because of that.

COMMENTS: I love this ! I purchased sooo many lotions and I come back to this one everytime ! It's extremely thick, like a body butter. I like that because a little bit goes a VERY long way, since I add quite a bit of water to whip up a batch of lotion, or I leave it thick for body butter. I also use it as a base for scrubs !

COMMENTS: Love this Cream! Thick and rich, rubs in smooth and silky with a powdery feel after a minute or two. Everyone who trys it comment on how good it feels. Use as is, or thin down with water, or I add quite a bit of extra oils to customize it, and it doesn't separate or get runny so far. Please keep making it!
