Pumice Stone is made from volcanic rock, which is created from the extremely hot and pressurized conditions of a volcanic eruption. Pumice stone is very lightweight, but can be extremely abrasive because it has a similar makeup to glass. Pumice stone is ground to make soft pumice powder, which is popularly used in the cosmetic industry. Pumice powder is used as an exfoliant in soaps and scrubs. Although it is soft, we recommend using this powder in products intended for tough areas of the skin such as the hands and feet. Pumice can be used to replicate sand in beachy recipes!
